Am I correct in assuming that this Google issue isn't affecting and will not affect P30 pro's?

I am getting close to "pulling the trigger" (I hate that expression!!) on an early upgrade from my S9+ into a P30 pro, I have 2 friends who've recently gone from their S8+'s and can't stop talking about how good the P30 pro is.

Also am I likely to notice a discernible difference in overall performance and camera from the S9+ to the P30 pro?

I don't need to change early and I could wait for the S11, I just fancy something new and shiny
Is anyone going to have both ?

Anyway review of P30 pro vs S10+

My daughter has laid claim on my P20 Pro when it goes in May (I'll get a P30 Pro) - This is telling as she was on at me for months about getting an iPhone prior to that...

Please do because my daughter wants one and at that money, it's only £4 a month more expensive than her SIM only deal

ETA: It's still there:

https://www.mobilephonesdirect.co.uk/contract-mobi...

If I've read this right, they take the cashback from wherever and reduce the line rental cost to you accordingly...

My question would be what would happen in 6 months time if they then disappear, with the cash - Who is then liable for the full line rental cost? Or am I being too cynical (it's been one of those days)?

I've used them, you don't pay them the monthlies, it is all set up with whatever carrier you sign up to, just the same as if you went directly to EE or Vodaphone etc.

The cashback is claimed by the customer over the period so you have to remember to go through the process. Hover over the little 'i' and it explains how often. You actually pay the full amount and make the claims as you go along.

Apart from that slight complication it's an excellent deal.
