Interesting - reviews look good, and it's definitely the right form factor. Only fly in the ointment is a lack of ports. Ideally want a microSD slot as I am going to use it as a library for scanned sheet music which I'd want to keep on a separate card. Very tempted though.
It has an SD card slot. Very often when you buy a micro sd card you get the micro SD to SD adapter included.

Yes, that's what I'm doing and like the Surface Pro I'm currently typing on which was also bought in the States, it's hardly an issue.
It's fine when you're used to it ... if not, it can be a PITA wink

Edited - the Lenovo Miix 510 looks very very tempting - only issue is no microSD card slot...
Double check the specs.

I've seen specs that say it has a Micro SD Reader, which is quite likely:

https://www.box.co.uk/80XE0008UK-Lenovo-Miix-510_2...

but the Lenovo website suggests it has a Micro SIM port ... which seems far less likely:

https://www3.lenovo.com/gb/en/miix-series/Miix-510...

given I don't believe it has 3g or 4g, it's quite possible that's a typo!

Tempted myself as I could do with a lightweight travel machine for work which runs Win 10 Pro.
I didn't even know I wanted one of these until I looked at this.... damn...

My Asus Tranformer 3 Pro has an SD slot.

The I5 version is about £550 to £600.
Plasticpig, how are you finding your Transformer 3 Pro? They do look good but biggest criticisms seem to be very poor battery life and very noisy fan. I would be looking at the base i5 / 4GB / 256GB model - does that spec seem OK? I am slightly concerned by the memory, I would prefer 8GB...

The alternatives seem to have large downsides, and the Surface Pro is so expensive - at least £800 without the keyboard.

Quite happy with mine but I have the i7 8gb ram model. For me it's fine as I don't tend to use it all day and the battery lasts the 4-5 hours use I give it. I don't really notice the fan noise that much. I paid £700 for mine and I would say at that price it was very good value for money.

Well, at the moment I have narrowed it down to:

Lenovo MIIX 510 - no SD card slot
Lenovo MIIX 700 - seems a lesser spec and older I think
Samsung Galaxy Tab S - can only get a refurbed one and no SD card slot
Acer Aspire Switch Alpha 12 - quite old, poor screen, middling battery
Microsoft Surface Pro - expensive, and no keyboard included
HP Spectre X2 - really, really expensive
ASUS Transformer 3 Pro - poor battery life, is 4GB enough?

At the moment the Transformer seems the best bet but I am slightly concerned by battery life, memory, and age - although all of them apart from the latest Surface Pro seem to be a year or two old...
