So I'm seeing these 0-60 apps that can tell you loads about your car - anyone tried them and what's your thoughts on them ?

Mobile phones do lots of things, few of them well. The accelerometers in the phone aren't intended for this purpose, so I doubt results are accurate regardless of how much "calibration" the app does.

If the app is free though... You've got nothing to lose. :-)

Torque Pro and other such apps read the obd2 and display info such as 0-60 from the cars information and so therefore are more accurate than using your phones accelerometer, it will output this info to your phone through the app. Most adapters you buy come with hooky versions saving you actually having to buy the app itself but i cant speak for how good it is vs just paying for it, my headunit came with such apps preloaded. I bought a mini obd2 bluetooth adapter so it stays permanently plugged in and when i feel like seeing the info i just load the app and drive and it displays everything live.
