It would be massively useful to me at least. A properly executed one would remove the need for several devices.
Why invent something that renders your other products obsolete or unnecessary?Back in 2006 I used to make silicon semiconductors. We were working for a while out of Philips and collaborated with them to develop a bendable display.

The general rule back then at Philips was 20 years to mainstream product (I’m sure that’s changed now) but great to see the technology being developed into something more useable.

If mobile phones are as thin as they can be, then a folded one is going to be twice as thick.
Really cant see it taking off. Theres a limit to the size of phones before they become unwieldly - either in screen size or in the thickness.
Probably a small market for it but not significant.

Surely not - the folded half is just a screen, it doesnt require battery / processor / ports etcReally cant see it taking off. Theres a limit to the size of phones before they become unwieldly - either in screen size or in the thickness.

But they aren’t as thin as possible. And the folding phone won’t usurp a new big iPad. It’s coming. Thin as a wafer thin mintReally cant see it taking off. Theres a limit to the size of phones before they become unwieldly - either in screen size or in the thickness.

Exactly, Apple and Samsung won’t release a clunker. They have had this concept in the lab since 2013
