Has anyone else had HDs fail from a big online seller... the one that begins with A....

A year ago I bought a 1TB Seagate Skyhawk drive that has just failed about 4/5 days ago. I bought exactly the same drive from the same place and its dead after 2 days. I suspect that either the bearing has gone on there is an issue with the head and when its running it sounds like when you get a stone stuck in your car disc brake.

The second drive appears to have been well over a year old as on the NVR config page it said 484 days up time.

Just put in a WD purple drive so hopefully that will last and shows up as 0 days old on the config.

Just me? Unlucky?

There have been reports of unscrupulous sellers palming off reconditioned drives as new

Was it direct from A or a 3rd party seller?

Just checked and it was a 3rd party UK seller.
