All our DVDs and BDs sit in the loft or cupboard now having been ripped to a NAS. Once I got the hang of it I end up buying a load more discs to rip so that I have a good library of films. Up to about 600 films now and about 2000 episodes of box sets.

Makemkv to rip; 30TB of useable NAS drives; Apple TVs and ipads running Infuse to view stuff. Occasionally I’ve had to use something else to stitch two discs into a single film (eg LOTR extended versions).

The CDs were ripped years ago. I can’t remember the last time I bought one. I used to listen to music for the sake of it but now convenience has run riot. Spotify or Apple Music are my “go to” sources and 90% of listening I do in the car or in the gym.

I've just brought my 80s hi-fi up from the basement after it was banished there 15 years ago for not being aesthetically pleasing, managed to find a suitable rack that the other half thought was fit to grace our dining room. She even acknowledges that the old system sounds better than all the "nice looking" stuff we have had over the years. I can now play my old tapes, cds and LPs again, I attached the old hi-fi to the wi-fi and can now also play Spotify etc through my old hi-fi system. Not worked out how to play the analogue stuff via the wi-fi on the various speakers I have around the house. Though I suspect that's not possible with my current set up. Need to keep working on that one thumbup

Still got every CD I ever bought. At some point I'll get round to ripping them all in lossless format but will still keep them so I have a "hard" back-up of my music collection, just in case.

Same. CDs don't last that long though, some of mine have already deteriorated. Selected Ambient Works II, CD 2 is gone - very sad times. I have a lossless copy though, so all's good.

I used to buy a cd every couple of weeks.
Then HMV went bust and the branch in my local mall closed.
They still have a branch in central Bristol but wild horses will not drag me to the centre.

I am in the process of ripping them and they will be stored without the jewel cases, I won’t bin them on the basis that they are mine and my collection cannot be held to ransom by a streaming company.
That used to be me. Then I discovered Amazon.

All still analogue, vinyl and print - for the decent stuff anyway. Books should be like most vinyl albums, buy the hard copy you can keep and enjoy forever with the art work, cover notes and physical interaction, but include a code for a digital download so you can enjoy while on the move.

The other issue that is irritating is putting a library in the cloud...

Amazon offered this, so I uploaded my entire music library into their music locker - meaning I could listen to my obscure jazz tracks from anywhere... and more easily on Sonos too.

Then Amazon decided to abandon this service. Thanks Amazon! You deleted my library....

Fortunately I have a flash drive with the back up - but a very irritating waste of time.
