I am broadband only with virgin. Normalmstory of price going up within 2 months despite a contract.

Went through to cancellations department and upshot is that I have 100mb for 18 months with g’tee of no price increases at £35 pm. As I don’t have a phone line I am happy enough with this.

Cannot wait for 5G to get proper national roll out as that is what I will go for next assuming my estate gets coverage.

I've just signed up with Voda. Never really trusted them as a mobile provider, but the reviews of their broadband are good so far. Also found some other sites were offering £100 giftcard to sign up and potentially a free Amazon Echo.
What's the giftcard thing about?

Had a look at Voda, they’re cheaper per month but £60 installation and £60 line installation makes it quite pricey up front.
Agreed, thats why I thought the Now TV option looked better value.

Just $0.02
So this is in addition to the £60 for a new line if you don't already have one?

Turns out it was badly worded and it’s actually just £60.

The gift card was a £100 Amazon or John Lewis or M&S or Curry’s one if you sign up through a comparison site by the looks of it.

Just cancelled with Virgin, only need the internet.
Was offered the 100mb for £42 and 200mb for £47.
I didn’t mention that new customers get it for £33 and £38 as my baby needed feeding so hopefully retentions call back and I’m offered a better day.

Let’s see how it goes over the next few days.

I cancelled Wednesday I think it was. Have not had any contact from them whatsoever, not even an email to confirm. My marketing settings say they can call me.

So if you have a BT line it's £0?

I don’t know because I don’t have a BT line currently. Just go through the sign up process and see what it says at checkout before you put in payment details.

I've tried that but the website keeps saying they are having trouble and it won't go any further.

Been doing a bit of research, and I know you tend to hear more bad than good, but Vodafone have terrible reviews, it's hard to find a good one! I was all set to go with them, but now I'm thinking it's worth paying a bit more for Plusnet, they are doing £75 cashback at the moment, and if it works £60 cashback through Topcashback as well.

Voda seem to have a 30 day cooling off period now. Most of the reviews from recently seem to be good.

When you say you don't have a BT line, is there no line to the property? Surely there was one once? Have you not got an old BT junction box somewhere?

Ok there is a piece of cable, but there’s nothing on the end of it.

My advice would be to stay away from Vodafone. Their routers are st, worse signal strength than any other router I've had, pretty poor up and down speeds and temperamental.

Virgin called yesterday morning. I missed the call.
They called again just and offered 200mb for £26 and 100mb for £21.

Took the 200mb. No phone included.

Happy with that considering I was paying £61.50 with rubbish channels and BTSport.

Same boat. Yearly increases. Hassle to call & complain to get a better price. Finally got sick of it.
Cancelled 4 months ago. Went vodafone for £21 or so. Its been bulletproof so far.

When did you cancel with them? It’s a week for me now and nothing so far.
