As we're now all working at home, share a pic and brief description of your workstation/desk. I bet there are some interesting set-ups.

Mine - running on a Raspberry Pi 4.

Hi - what stand is that? Looks solid. Cheers, David

I had a lovely home office in a spare bedroom, then my stepdaughter dropped out of uni. No great shakes as I only worked from home one day a week. Now on full work at home as is my Mrs, so things are a bit cramped in the kitchen!

I like the name Henge Stone, so I looked it up (I'm not a Mac person so I'm unfamiliar with their accessories), and found this which looks ace:

Yes, it's also a lie.

6+ matching, straight black USB leads with similar ends might look nice, the reality is 6 totally different wires tangling the crap out if each other no matter what you do smile

It's a Dell MDS14. There's a guy on eBay selling refurbed ones for £45 plus shipping. Made him an offer for £50 all-in and it arrived next day. Very heavy but solid, as you say. May only fit Dell monitors though - the square is the same size as all VESA but Dells have clip-in stands so no screws are necessary.

I've just purchased one of the HP docking stations for my machine. Second hand on Ebay. USBC G5 dock.

One USBC cable to machine provides power, ethernet, multiple usb sources and my two monitors. Nice piece of kit.

Au contraire. Never suffer from untidy cables again https://smile.amazon.co.uk/3-Pack-Desktop-Organize...

Thanks - I found it, including the bloke selling them on eBay.

Looks like it stands the screens quite a long way forward from the back of the base - ie takes a lot of desk space? Have you found that?

(sorry for slow replies - as well as not being on here all the time, I'm new so when I am I can't always post)

I’m in isolation, and my laptop was dropped off, but I haven’t felt much like getting it out the bag tbf.

Herman Miller Aeron (with repair tape), sit / stand (rarely used) desk. A 32" 2K, 40" 4K and a 27" (iirc) screen. Loads of mess etc, including a 'full' pumice stone and mini water cooler.

This setup does the job fine for me at the moment. I normally use two full screens in the office and I had the option to take some monitors from the office to home but I can't be bothered as I'm fine with one monitor right now. I used to have a two monitor setup at home too but after they broke I just decided one new monitor was enough.

My plan was to shove it down the back of my desk so it was all hidden, but it turns out that the cable that comes with your MacBook isn't actually to the Thunderbolt 3 standard and the cable that comes with the dock is about 30cm long. Then I found out how much Thunderbolt 3 cables cost, so I decided to put up with it for now rotate

Yes, it does push the screens forward, towards you. Fortunately for me, I'm already short sighted, and now going long sighted at the same time, so I have to remove my short sighted specs to view a screen, and have to pull the screen closer to me. But it won't work for everyone.

I'm fortunate to have a dedicated home office, also I have occasionally done wfh over the last few years - so I have a pretty decent setup :

Blimey, that's a tidy location. I'd be too afraid to eat at my desk if it was that nice. biggrin

Made a new adjustable monitor riser? With the 3D printer? I love this - can you do a close-up of the mechanism?
