Anyone use a gaming chair for work?
Discussion
It's already here and we're not back in until next week...! It was out of stock (again) when I first looked last week so decided to just get it done and it arrived a couple of days ago. I've also ordered a second MS Sculpt desktop and Logitech MX Master 3 mouse so I have the same in both locations as I can't be doing with swapping between different desktops etc. I pinched my work accessories - along with my dual monitors - when we left back in March but I've sourced some spare screens the same to use at the office.
Despite initially disliking it I now really rather like WFH. Certainly wouldn't want to be back in the office full-time now so hoping they allow us to keep the flexibility.

Companies in our sector (consultantcy) have to move on or close shop. I haven't put up with needless travel for years, and now a lot of other colleagues along with customers have "seen the light".The best way to reduce our travel time, expenses and pollution is not doing the trip at all.

Logitech has teamed up with Herman Miller https://www.logitechg.com/en-gb/logitech-g-and-her...
Can't find UK specific pricing but seeing suggestions of $1,500
It’s a Herman Miller embody, which costs that much anyway. I have one and it is worth every penny (though not the one with game T-shirt over it). Truly very supportive and comfortable to enjoy long and winding video mandated conference calls Can't find UK specific pricing but seeing suggestions of $1,500
The answer for which gaming chair? None, they all place looks and marketing ahead of ergonomics and comfort.
At least the embody has spare part availability and Little chance of falling apart in the first place.

How are they holding up?
SL Titan XL holding up (the archetypal PH powerfully-built director) very well here.Best purchase my company made this year (well I just look back, it was March, so just in last year's accounts and) early on in Lockdown - so five months in.
Mrs Beano sat on it yesterday (she has a few times before) but exclaimed "My, this is COMFORTABLE" and I have been in it everyday - and many times for long hours - with no back issues, and generally better shape than you might expected hunched over some keyboards....
Highly, highly rated!

We have secret lab here now, looking for a new office chair as the whole wfh thing goes on and ours is a bit stuffed and old.
Looking at the Titan or the Noblechair hero (or vs standard office chair of similar spec).
How are they holding up?
Noblechairs Hero Black Edition here (two in fact as I bought another one to take in to the office as well), can't fault them. The best compliment is that I don't really even think about them.Looking at the Titan or the Noblechair hero (or vs standard office chair of similar spec).
How are they holding up?

Cheers everyone, titan ordered will be a while though
My omega arrived 15th May, went together a dream, nicely packaged, quality feel (like you'd expect for £300!) and it is by far the most comfortable thing i've ever sat in.fractured my spine when i was 18 so get backache easily staying the same position for more than a few hours but this chair is helping that a great deal
you won't be disappointed

I’ve always though gaming chairs to be overpriced and overhyped, especially when the vast majority of office workers sit on £100 chairs that are specifically designed for good support and posture for 40+ hours a week
Much better to spend the money on a decent office chair
I had one for a few years, while it was alright for shorter periods long days would leave me with lower back pain due to I think too hard of a seat base and poor back support. Much better to spend the money on a decent office chair
I have since switched to a Herman Miller Aeron and it really is night and day. I can be at my desk for 8-12 hours and feel as fresh as a daisy when finished. Bought at the start of lockdown and it's been excellent, though I appreciate the large disparity in price...

Disagree completely - bearing in mind gamers aren't shy of spending even longer in the chair than office workers, so decent one will be designed with similar levels of time "in chair" in mind. Much better to spend the money on a decent office chair
For instance, in my properly adjusted office chair at work, I normally start to get a bad back halfway though the afternoon. In my SecretLab at home? Feel fine all the way up to logging off.
YMMV obviously, but I'd recommend a Secret Lab to anyone who spends significant time in front of a computer.
