It’s possible to see it when you swipe down from the top right whereas in pre notch days you could set it to display the level all the time

Back again you can tell I'm not an apple connoisseur.

Apple car play she had it set up on her previous one via WiFi in her mini now on the 12 Pro it just won't work, when you go into settings on the iPhone it says no Internet connection when you click on the mini connection. Any ideas?

...and my 12 Pro delivered, or should I say left on the doorstep!!

Didn’t hear anything, but checked my texts and had an alert to say it had been delivered. Just left outside.

Can’t believe a £1000 small package can just be left like that out in the street.

Anyway no harm done, but very surprised.

This has happened to me before with £2,000 worth of Apple laptop. I was apoplectic, but Apple themselves didn't much seem to care about the behaviour of the couriers they use.

It's a Covid thing at the moment. It's also down to the sender to insist on a signature it has nothing to do with the courier.

What’s even more bizarre is that the new phones come in boxes that slip through most letterboxes. Why leave it outside?

I get the Covid thing. Believe me, like most people at the moment we get at least 1 delivery per day. So I’m not green as to how CV has changed the way we get our goods delivered.

I’m just surprised that such high value (and very easily grabbed) goods can be left on the middle of a doorstep, in plain view of anyone passing.

No attempt to knock at the door, or hide the item behind plant pots / bins / down the side alley. I genuinely think if was left for any considerable time it would be gone.

The problem being if it had gone missing, Mr DPD would no doubt produce a picture showing it on my doorstep, so I must of had it.

Unfortunately the retailer packaged the little box in an unnecessarily much bigger box!

Hopefully it wasn’t Amazon packaging standards rofl enjoy the new phone. Mine is now 3 weeks away (Vodafone) and I thought the silver would be quick as it’s unpopular frown

Covid has just meant the courier takes a photo of the package at your open front door. At least that’s been the case for any deliveries we’ve had that required a “signature”

Crazy to not insist on a signature for a grand of tech

Our postie and couriers just open the door and put stuff in the house on the mat if it’s too big for our outdores American style box. If the house is locked (rare!) they just open the garage and put stuff in there.

Joys of rural living is you never miss a parcel haha.

You still can on the original SE running iOS 14.

Thank you for the clarification, much appreciated.

I swipe down to view it on my iPhone X so it does not bother me if I can still do that on my imminent iPhone 12. I only swipe to glance at it and I don’t need it displayed permanently. smile

My case, MagSafe charger and charger plug have arrived. The MagSafe charger works with my iPhone X, which I wasn’t expecting.

The case has magnets built in and the attraction between the charger and the case is pretty strong, you won’t be able to just pick the phone up without the charger staying attached. Not sure how annoying that’s going to be.

I’m sticking with my myriad of wireless chargers I have dotted around the house/work. The whole magsafe thing doesn’t make any sense to me. I just want to pick up phone from the charge without having to pry it off the charger.

MagSafe was great for MacBooks, shame they stopped it on them. The aftermarket adapter manufacturers I use now must be creaming it in!

Collected my iPhone 12 from the Apple store this evening. Cant say I notice much difference in use to my iPhone7. Not saying there aren't any differences, but I just don't seem to notice them.

None at all? 7 to a 12 is a huge leap.

The camera has got miles better, plus you must notice it's surely a lot faster between apps than the 7?

Just shows you though that the improvements each year not aren't as groundbreaking as they used to be.
