I paid £1729 for a MSI 3090 SUPRIM in mid Dec and the same card was on sale (very briefly) this week for £2599

What did you pay for the 3070? Some of the recent scalper prices have been insane, but I'd like to pick one up at some point.
I paid €900 for a Zotac Amp Holo (grabbed first card available once I'd decided to buy) vs a nominal RRP of something like €600. Currently have €237 across CB and NH so at current rates it only needs to sweat for another few weeks and it's paid off the difference. On paper, anyway laugh

When I first started looking 3070s were going for about €800 and I thought that was ridiculous, criminal considering RRP etc. Same card now is over €1000 eek

That's the situation I was in, but I eventually figured I would wait at least a year to so I swallowed my pride and in late Feb I picked up a 3070 and set it earning its supper mining ether. It's clawed back over half of the 'premium' over RRP that it cost me already. Just sayin'

My situation is maybe slightly different as I didn't already have a 1080Ti, just a 1650, but even so, I regret not jumping even sooner.

I bought a Gigabyte Gaminc OC 3070 for £885 delivered through ebay. New and un-opened and only arrived with the seller two days before I bought it.

If you check the current advertised ebay prices for these cards and the actual sold prices, you see that is cheaper than they are now.

Massive UK Nvidia FE drop - ALL 4x cards this morning starting around 9.10

I was out for a walk at the beach when I felt my phone beep (had set up notifications on a bunch of things). Sweet FA data coverage and couldn't get on to their website until I got back to the car and drove into better coverage. Probably about 12 mins. Too late by then.

Screw that - I've been monitoring discords, twitter and telegram groups for over an effing month, checking every notification, and then they drop all four FE cards at the same time when I can't actually get online to even have a shot at getting them.

Bugger, was doing something not that important at the time and missed it!

How much is the 3090 FE out of interest?

Edit, it's the £1399 I guess.

Yup, FE are by far the cheapest (and classiest looking) if you can get hold of them. I felt a bit mental buying a 3090FE just before Christmas but given the 3080 is regularly more expensive when you can get hold of it, feels like a bargain to me now.

Yeah it's a very good card IMO. Goods scores btw, slightly better than me in both (I have a 3900XT):

Yeah, I feel ever so lucky to have grabbed the 3070FE a bit back but was after a 3060ti or another 3070 FE for a different computer. Hopefully the next drop won't be that long

I think they've got a one per person limit on the FE cards so you might want to have another account lined up just in case you do get hold of one and they cancel the sale.

The last one before today was the final day of March. I did a bunch of research and set up alerts on Twitter, Telegram and Discord after that. Over a month of jumping on every notification on my phone for absolutely no results..........

Good spreadsheet here detailing NVidia FE drops in Europe, inc UK:

I wouldn't worry too much, Scan website was throwing a cloudflare 1002 error, the site was down for most if not all people.

You'll never get one. There are scalping groups with hacks guaranteed to beat any simple retail customer to any drops.

Yeah I know being optimistic - having done the prebuilt for exactly that reason.

I did manage to get through the CAPTCHA on my mobile and onto the product page for a 3070FE - but that was many minutes after the initial alert and there was no option to buy (ie: sold out).

Later on when I got home tried my PC (to have a CAPTCHA pass done and leave the page open) and I got the cloudflare errors. Then a bit after that, the page didn't exist any more (it only goes up during the drop).

It does seem that Scan/NVidia at least make an effort to fight bots for their FE drops. I also saw people on Discords noting that they couldn't access the link for the FE drops via known VPNs or non-UK IP addresses.

IMO, the FE cards are the only ones worth going for. All the regular alerts for cards on Amazon/Ebuyer/CCL etc show them way more expensive than the FE - a function of AIB cards costing more plus often price gouging on top of that by the retailer - and judging from feedback and comments on the posts, they *still* go instantly anyway. Word is that most sites don't bother doing any bot protection and don't care who they sell to, so the bots just hoover them all up for mining or scalping groups. Ebay - don't even go there, prices are stratospheric.

So ... the Nvidia FE drops are the only ones where you have any real chance and the price is reasonable. Most likely going to be at least a month before we see any more since NVidia did 3060Ti, 3070, 3080 and 3090s pretty much all at the same time this morning after there being a month and a half since the last drop.
