Not quite right, the 3080 pushed over 100fps in ultra on COD Warfare with an intel i9 10900k so the card they showed wasn't going to compete with it there, you also have to take into consideration that its also very possible that said AMD card wasn't their top card either, plus they are using a 5900X CPU to compare with as well and then there will be some tweaks with the drivers.

Its looking good for AMD but I don't think they have beaten the green team in this one, they lack behind in RTX and DLSS but its very promising to what lies ahead.

Nvidia running scared having cancelled the 3070ti and 3080 20mb.

Latest leaks show 'Big' Navi at 3080 level or a bit better in everything other than ray tracing. If AMD can actually fulfill demand they will win hands down.

Nvidia might be forced to look at pricing and wonder how the fk they managed to botch their paper launch and underestimate AMD so much.

It really all depends on the number of cards available when AMD launch their cards and the level they price them at.

yes The real winner here will be the company that can actually provide cards to those who want them.

They are claiming that Big Navi really does mean X2 performance over the first iteration of Navi. RX6800XT with 16GB. Sounds good for 4K. Pricing is going to be the issue.

edit to add: I'm now sold as they mentioned there is going to be a 'RAGE MODE' setting in Adrenalin. biggrin

Commentators I'm listening to are saying it should be called 'God Mode' combined with the new top end Zen 3 CPUs. Let's hope they match this with pricing.

I hope they can back up the claims, AMD usually overstate these things. I'd love to see them undercut Nvidia by about 20-30% and have loads of stock ready to go.

6800 XT 16gb.

Kind of disappointed then that the 6900 XT is also 16gb. It's 10fps up on the 6800 XT for $999 ! It's very similar in it's performance/price increase as the 3090 is to the 3080.

Can I crawl under the bus to scrape what remains of your 3080 from there to replace my fked up overclocked, overheating AMD 5700?

Edit to add: replacing an OEM blower style RX5700 bios with that from an XT Anniversary and then overclocking it isn't to be recommended when it comes to system reliability or longevity despite my best efforts to cool it.

haha, I'm just kidding, I'm still happy with my purchase, it replaces a very old (7 years?) 9 series titan. So a huge upgrade for me. I just need to get the waterblock sorted and get it in.

This is great news for us though. Hopefully some more progress in this space after what felt like stagnation. The 3090 sure looks a hard buy now when its $999 for the competitor!
