Same, M1 Pro 32GB/512

Really suits the way i work - i.e. leave everything running and shut the lid at the end of the day biggrin

Not arsing about the next day to get it all working again.
I have the same and love it although it's complete overkill for me. When work says get what you want from the list then what am I going to do???

I caved and have just ordered this:

It'll replace my M1 Air that I'll give to my wife. If she doesn't get along with it then I'll just sell it.

Excited!

I'm looking at getting a Mac Mini to replace my now ye olde spec i5 MBP 13" retina screen. Why/how to Currys list it for £50 more than Apple? https://www.currys.co.uk/products/apple-mac-mini-2.... Is it £1448 not £1399 because it's out of stock? (I'm keeping an eye on the Apple refurb site too)

On Amazon for £1399 if you need it urgently:
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Apple-desktop-computer-10...

Although we bought one from an Apple reseller on ebay for £1349 (yes, it has arrived safe & sound):
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304777484051

We got fed up waiting for an M2 Pro one to come up on the refurb store (probably too new).

Slightly off-topic, but where's the recommended marketplace to sell a used Macbook these days? I'm going to sell my M1 Air 16GB/256GB and get a new M2 I think, because shiny.

Ebay, FB Marketplace?

I'd like to reduce any interaction with not-rights if possible.
I personally use https://macback.co.uk because I really CBA with all the potential grief with eBay etc, and I've found their prices pretty fair. Very easy.
Thanks for that - didn't know they existed. They've offered £490 which seems a bit light for an immaculate device. Obviously they need to make a profit.

I might give Ebay a go.
Just tried this again and it's gone down to £380! Chancers.

Ebay it is.

Looking for a new laptop for my missus to replace a 10 year old MBA which has finally died.
Will an £850 M1 Air be sufficient for general work stuff and watching Netflix or is there any point splashing out on the new M2 one? I doubt any processing limits will be reached, but are there any differences in the screen, ergonomics etc?

And it went for £750. £650 after fees (robbing gits!)

M1 Air will be fine. I've just sold my immaculate one on Ebay (as above) so might be worth saving a few hundred quid and buying lightly used.

I'm using an M2 now and actually prefer the tapered profile of the M1. M2 has a slightly higher res screen but has a notch. I went for the Midnight colour and it's a fingerprint magnet.

I should have stuck with the M1 laugh

The M1 Air is a good machine, I am writing this on one, but the M2 took a few of the better bits from the latest MBP redesign - MagSafe/better webcam and I think it went back to the old keyboard design, rather than the unpopular butterfly keyboards (not that I've had a problem with them on either of the MacBooks I've had with them.

Just bought a 13 inch MacBook Pro M2 512GB to replace a dead 2015 MBP. It’s an incredible machine, and will hopefully do me for many years. I really wanted the Touch Bar and so far happy with my choice.

M2 retains the keyboard from the M1, which itself was new keyboard - unless I'm missing something!

I've gone and ordered one. I've been looking at the M2 Pro Mac Mini, keeping an eye on camelcamelcamel for the Amazon prices and for it to appear on the Apple refurb site. This morning they appeared, so I've got an M2 Pro mini with 1TB coming for a bit less than a standard new one smile .

There's a great app for hiding the notch called topnotch. Try it. I use it on all my messages (none of which are new enough for a notch) just to get a black menu bar for readability.

Anyone found the M2 Air much of an improvement from the M1 Air? Fancy a change and hoping the battery life is even better (M1 is excellent to be fair).

It was the £1359 one, the standard M2 Pro with 512 is £1399 new.

if it's already excellent then is it worth changing?

I went from M1 Air to M2 Air a couple of months ago.

I prefer the form factor of the M1.I prefer the colour of my M2 (went for Midnight, though it does attract fingerprints). Camera and screen are 'better' on the M2.

Some good info here: https://www.macworld.com/article/784743/m2-macbook...

Bored I guess and I have had this form factor of MacBook Air for a while now. No particular reason to change, just scratching an expensive itch really! lol
