I’m fed up watching Netflix on my phone, don’t want to spend a fortune but also don’t want pixely slow crap.

Any suggestions please ?

Is the best solution, I have one in my 'work suitcase' for just this purpose as I got sick of watching stuff on an iPad.

Had both an Amazon Fire HD 10 and a Lenovo Tab 10 Plus (earlier version to the one linked above) .... Lenovo is MUCH better than the Fire.

Fire tablet only has 2gb RAM and a max of 64gb storage, that Lenovo above has 4gb RAM and 128gb storage

Fire's processor is slower than the Lenovo's

Both are Full HD screens

Fire with ads is £180, Lenovo ATM is £150 .... I know where my money would be going ... in fact will be going, fancy an upgrade wink

My wife bought a Fire to watch stuff on planes/trains, and it does that job well but is otherwise fairly limited as a tablet and she bought a proper android tablet a year or so later.

If you only want to use it to watch stuff though they're a decent option

I buy the Fire devices and strip as much Amazon off them as possible, you can find programmes on XDA Developers for stripping stuff off them.

Also depends what subscription you have. Some subscriptions have support HDR, is this important to you for picture quality?

the fire HD 10 is listed as a supported device for Netflix, as is a long list of previous generations so you shouldn't get issues on Netflix for a long time, and for prime you are going to get even better support.
The lenovo mentioned is £180 full price. It is probably far better for doing all sorts of things not asked about.
The Fire HD 10 is £160 with no special offers, but I bought mine for £90 because it was on a deal, you will struggle to get devices supported by the major steaming platforms for less than the fire range at full price, on the offers that regularly come up you definitely wont

Thank you all - I’ll keep an eye on price to jump on a deal - amazon have a sale coming up.

If you're not already aware of it, you set price alerts on camelcamelcamel so they e-mail you when the price on Amazon drops below your threashold

Bought my youngest a cheap tablet off Amazon for about £60, cant recall the brand but it is a cheap Chinese one with 32gb storage because all she uses it for is streaming, it's a little slow on the initial start up but once running it streams Netflix, Youtube Kids and Disney+ on wifi with no issues at all.

Personally I wouldn't but an Amazon tablet as they are too restricted with the Amazon software

£150 for the Fire 10HD 32gb, with ads.

The Lenovo was same price for twice the RAM and four times the storage, was being the operative word .. now sold out ..

I didn't help that situation as I ordered 2 yesterday morning smile
