Despite the cost being reasonable (without case), I'm also one of those thinking I don't really have any use for it.

Keys? Nope, don't have any.

Wallet - maybe, but it's only ever in one of three places... and so never taken long to find.

Car? It's already tracked.

I did think about the dog and the kid... but in both instances finding something to hold it and then ensuring they stay wearing it doesn't really work very well.

All in all, I think the idea, as others before have tried is a good one, and good way for people to find things... but personally I rarely lose anything, and certainly nothing I'd bother sticking an AT on.

I got some more laugh and put one in each of my cars just to see how they get on, the one in the Jaguar is rubbish, you need to be within 3 meters of the car for it to connect, the one in the Vantage connects 20 meters from inside the house and the car is in the garage.

I’m guessing the Jaguar has some sort of sensors running which are messing up the signal.

Oddly the Vantage location is updated every 20 mins or so even when on one is in, but unless I actually go outside to the Jaguar it’s last known location is where my phone was last inside it.

Bit poop, could be a duff one I guess, I might switch them over tonight and see.

I’ve stuck one on my keys. More for the sound than the tracking as I just tend to misplace them in the house!

What would a game changer for me is one inbuilt in my sunglasses. Jeez, I’m forever leaving them everywhere!

The Tile Pros are much better for finding your keys, much louder speaker.

Willingness to poke holes pays dividends. My tile also connects more reliably. On balance, I won't be buying more airtags.

If half of iphone users buy one though.... probably higher than the revenue of some large companies.

Let me get this right, so i understand how the ecostructure works.

Its essentially a bluetooth device, that will when out of range of the users phone, tap into an other Apple users bluetooth, if they have find my phone enabled and the relevant IOS.

It then flags where the tag is to the "owner" of said tag.

Correct?

Yup, which makes it much better than a tile etc, as you have to rely on enough people running the tile app. Anyone with a modernish iPhone passing will report it. I’ve been playing with mine leaving it in my wife’s car (she is Android) and I can happily see her bombing along motorways etc

In a caravan would be a good place, if it showed up at the local transit van camp, I’d certainly not be interested in getting it back, if it turned up in a nice driveway after being sold on, I might be interested in getting it back.

For our dog, knowing which way it ran out of the drive would be better than guessing

Still going well, a noticeable improvement in reporting when my wife’s car is out and about, I think that is down to people upgrading their iOS

Other than spousal tracking I still can’t think of a suitable reasoning for one

I do think hold luggage (suitcase) will be an ideal one once I’m travelling again but at the moment, no.

The Mrs has a Hermes S6 watch and I had the S3 version - people joke at the prices but the leather accoutrements are of wonderful quality and it also happens to perfectly match the Mrs’ other Hermes accessories, bags and jewellery.

Can we tell the tags life? Or do you mean phone battery drain from looking at your own tags? Or phone drain from tagging others tags?

I haven’t noticed any difference on my phone I doubt anyone will tbh.

I still can’t work out if they’d be a good dog tracker - I presume that if someone found the dog that has escaped/run off - if they chucked the tag, you’d be stuffed but…

It would give u a last position?

Would you be able to follow the signal as the dog was running round the local area?

It will give you the last position it was seen by an Iphone.
