WiFi extender which actually works

I've found if you connect the mesh to the router (ethernet) , then turn off the wi-fi on the router, nothing gets confused as there's only the Mesh wi-fi available to connect to.

Tp link deco p9. Best of both worlds. Mesh wifi and powerline built in. Plus they have 2 lan ports on each unit. We have hue hub plugged in to one and the smart tv and ps4 plugged into other unit via lan for beat possible performance.

ive been using tplink and now netgear powerline adapters for years working from home and often uploading and downloading 50 to 100 gbs per day, and its just as fast over the powerline adapters to my work pc as it is on my home pc which is wired right into the router.

As most people have stated, the TP Link Deco range is very good.
I have The Deco S4. Fantastic speed, range and reliability. Couldn't recommend more.

Just to close out the thread, the Tenda nova mw5 has arrived, was very easy to setup and has resolved my issues.

Mesh is awesome ! Thanks everyone for the advice

I did as suggested and turned of the WiFi on my original router to avoid any confusion

Off the back of this thread I actually bought the MW6 the other day. Had some slight annoyances to begin with as I have 20 odd devices with static IPs on the 192.168.1 range whereas the Tenda wanted to default to 192.168.5. Eventually sorted it out by changing the default range of the BT HomeHub and now getting better speeds and my statically assigned devices are all online now. Decent kit for the money. Probably letting the Chinese government into our network though.

Hi I’m looking to upgrade to a mesh system from my extender as I’m fed up with changing from router connection to the extender when out in the garden.

Can you please confirm if this is the correct one?

Brilliant, thanks for confirming. Going to give it a try, seems a bargain compared to other options.
