iPads typically last longer than cheap tablets and are supported with security updates for longer. important if you are doing online banking etc.

Although the cost of entry is higher over the term it averages out. Consider apple refurb if you want to lower the entrance cost.
I would counter both of those statements.

I had an ipad and it was made redundant by a software update. Later a little under 2 years before becoming so slow it was unusable. I have 3 Andoid tabs in the house and I get many many years out of them.

I also have always had android phones, I do all my banking on them, Two businesses, savings, stocks, personal banking. Guess what, no fraud. Same with my Mother, and Sister, and partner and.. etc etc. It's a myth created by Apple fanboys.

The banks won't allow their apps to run on "unsecure" platforms. Unsecure enough for them to risk significant exposure to loss.

Those refurb Ipads start at about £300.
Twice the price of a Lenovo.
And the cheap ones are already one generation out of date.

£300 might be really good value if you use it a lot.

Thread update : slight twist of events, I've finally got my hands on a PS5 so have reallocated funds to buying that, after some serious man math-ing smile Will definitely keep an eye on this thread though for future purchase.

We have two of: LENOVO Tab M10 FHD Plus 10.3" 4G Tablet - 64 GB

179 each.

Great bits of kit, and almost disposable at that price. I even use mine in the bath (on a stand by the side, with Netflix on!)
