Upto now I've used the Magic Eye Link to watch and change channels upstairs. But since ive bought a new tv upstairs and picture through analogue ariel connection is very poor .

Is there a way i can get better quality and still be able to change channels upstairs?

I thought about a long hdmi cable. And still have the magic Eye connected to be able.to change channels or is there some new technology I don't know about.? Without paying for multi room

Upgrade to Sky Q and Sky Multiscreen Add On to get a minibox for upstairs.

RF connections and Magic Eye was dropped on all new boxes like the Q, so anything you do may have a limited life.

I have not found a solution. Sky Go is knobbled so wont stream to a chromecast (although you can screen share your mobile to a chromecast perhaps). I suspect HDMI splitters and extenders may run into HDCP issues and would be a pain to run in.

Bit of shame they force you into the multitoom package now.

Many years ago, faced with the same problem with an old Sky + box, I used PoE HDMI over IP boxes (not to be confused with over cat5/6 extenders) from Just Add Power - https://justaddpower.com/ and (I think) left the magic eye in place for IR control.

It was a bit overkill and fortunately I had cat5 going to each room, but it worked a treat.

If you've only got an RF feed/near to your TV, maybe something like this would do the trick: https://www.amazon.co.uk/TRIAX-MODULATOR-THROUGH-c...

Are you on a discount with sky currently? If you are paying a lot, negotiate a discount, but with an extra mini box.

Currently have a near 50% discount on undue, running for two years. But I do still spend a lot, because have everything through them.

I don’t think there is a room in my house that doesn’t have a Sky Q box. Maybe the hallway, and the pantry? I’ll have to check

A long time ago I fully offered myself to the Sky gods, and firmly believe that every time someone cancels their Sky contract, a puppy dies. In fact whilst ever someone is using a Magic Eye instead of paying for a Sky Q mini box, somewhere in the world a kitten will be walking with a limp.

Move the SKY box upstairs, send the RF signal downstairs.
