HI Guys -

Hoping for a quick bit of advice.

Girl i work with had the back wheel of her bike nicked

is its a carerra zelos with a 700c wheel and 7 spd casette - looks like it has a disc break as well

I'm hoping to do an amazon delivery of a replacement wheel for her - do you guys know where I could potentially get one delivered from?

https://www.halfords.com/bikes/road-bikes/carrera-...

would this work?

https://www.amazon.co.uk/Madspeed7-ETRTO-622x19-Hy...

Thanks all Tim.

You can put a 7spd cassette onto an 8spd hub, but you will need a spacer to take up the width (they're cheap).

If putting a new cassette on, if the bike's done some miles, it's likely a good idea to replace the chain at the same time.

In theory, it will run fine with the 8spd one, you just won't be able to engage the end cog.

The dropout width of 135mm and disc size of 160mm look correct.

Sounds like she needs a new brake disc as well as she had a disc break.....

The description of the wheel states it's not suitable for road bikes with drop bars'.

I can only imagine this means the rim may be too wide, or the rim only suits tyres which are too wide?

I'm still learning new ways that pushbike stuff can be incompatible!

Correct it will only work with wider tyres.

I did think that - but checking the halford site - it looks like the zelos has 28mm tyres as std - so should be all good?

will find out shortly as it arrive with her this morning! .
