Apple Launch September - iPhone 16 and other new stuff

I bought an iPhone 2020 SE from Amazon for £130 refurbed with a 100% battery and in mint nick, and I'm running iOS 18 Beta on it at the moment. I use it when I want to travel light after marvelling at how tiny my iPhone 6S was; it's so tiny! And it's still perfectly usable, I have a 15 Pro Max for my usual phone and the SE is not at all frustrating. Battery isn't great of course, but does get you through the best part of a day if you're not hammering it.
I’ve had a 12 for the last few years and recently my wife brought home a 2022 SE (it has sat in a drawer in her work pretty much unused) for me to either sell or swap with my 12; I tried it for a week and whilst I absolutely love the size and feel of it (it is so ergonomic) I came to the conclusion that I am too used to the bigger phone, so I am about to run the gauntlet of eBay to sell the SE, which is a shame as I really wanted to like it.If the rumours are correct the new phones will have improved batteries. That’s a real benefit for me.

I have a 12pro, so will be getting the 16. to be honest nothing really wrong with the 12, it’s the first time i’ve kept a phone so long without upgrading. but feel the improved camera/ battery will be worth it.
doesn’t seem anything earth shattering with the new phone, but i like shiny new things!
prob get the battery replaced on my 12 and give it to my parents (sick of them buying the cheapest android they can and wonder why pictures are crap and they run out of storage!)

Regretting not jumping on a 15 pro max when they dipped below a grand a couple of weeks ago. Will hang on now to see the prices and specs of the 16 now before deciding.
Currently on an 8 plus which is fine but struggling with 64gb of memory…

My 12mini is getting a bit too slow and laggy now so time for an upgrade.
From reading it seems like the 17 is going to be the big upgrade where it’s actually worth getting the new iPhone, but I can’t put up with my old one that long, so the 16pro it will be.
I don’t like the larger phones, but I’ve also never really given them a chance so we’ll see

My iPhone 11 continues to go strong (bought new 4 years ago this December), but will consider moving my wrist from Garmin to Apple if:
- Apple make a big improvement on battery life.
- Apple stop the bloody "3-2-1-Go!" and actually introduce HR and GPS lock before allowing the user to start an outdoor activity manually.
- Apple introduce the rumoured blood pressure monitoring to my liking (to replace a device on my other wrist).
I'm currently on a 2.5 year old iPhone 13, and I have to say, the battery is holding up much better than all my previous iPhones. Still at 90% capacity.
What I would like from the September launch is nothing more than the 16 to be launched, and the prices of the 15 to be reduced. I will then buy a 15 to replace my 13.
I could get a 14 right now for £499 off Amazon, but I would prefer the 15 and then happily bin every single Lightning cable in my possession in favour of USB-C. Everything else I own is USB-C charging so makes sense to move to the 15.
Why don't I just buy a 16 when it comes out? Because I'm still more than happy with the spec, features, camera, and everything else about the 13, so I doubt there will be any reason for me to spend more on the 16.
For me, phone upgrades are just tinkering round the edges these days.

I usually upgrade every 2 years & my wife gets my hand me down.
My 256gb 14 pro max is still like new. 85% battery health. My old 256gb 12 pro max just got replaced by Apple as they f’ed up the battery replacement. £85.
Unsure what to do. Needs to be significantly better than what I have now.
Main use is music, camera, Waze & Strava.
