I think you really are spoilt by the screens on the latest iPads, they really are crisp and make everything else look poor despite being pretty good in their own right.

When I swap from my MBP to my office Studio with an LG screen it's a massive step backwards.
Watched several videos on the latest M4 iPad when it first came out (didn’t end up getting one in the end) and a LOT of them basically said it’s one of the best displays they’d ever seen in any format including in proper lab testing. It’s absolutely an incredible panel.

With ipadOS26 it may be an actual contender for a laptop replacement for light work and usual things.

I've had my base 13" M4 MBA for a few months now and still absolutely stoked with it. We have BYD policy at work so I use for 8+ hours a day for normal office work stuff plus video and photo editing. I never breaks a sweat or even gets vaguely warm when rendering 4k footage. More screen hz and better speakers would be nice, but for the price it's a proper beast.

I have a 15" MBA which I hardly use. It's an M3.

Screen and speakers are noticeably worse than the MBP and I don't know whether it's the size but it seems a lot more 'flimsy' than the MBP.

I'd always plump for the Pro.

Well I thought if we're having a new OS launched soon, I'll upgrade my M2 Macbook Pro. Watch them bring out an M5 very soon furious
its saying mid cycle atm

Cheers, I mean realistically I'm not sure there's much they could add which would make me need to upgrade for a long, long time.

This time I really wanted the nano screen as I have started to do a bit of work in the garden. That and I wanted black.
I’m in the market and probably going to buy the MacBook Air M4 (15”) shortly. I’m a bit confused by the macrumours website saying that it’s ’mid cycle- neutral’ on the 15, but ‘buy now- just updated’ on the 13?!? it’s not going to out me off buying, because otherwise i’d always be waiting on the next greatest

did they both not just get updated in march to the new m4 chip?!? and are pretty much the same except for the screen size?!?

also noticed john lewis/ ao.com have the 15” m4 (512gb) for £1,265 which is £130 cheaper than apple direct. any reason not to buy via these sites/ shops?

Same price on Amazon too and they have buy in 5 going currently; could be worth a look - saves the all in one hit

And no reason to avoid them at all; they're all trusted resellers
