I bought ColdWinter for the PS2 last week and played it a few hours this weekend saving it a few times without issue. I went to play it again last night and although it recognised the last save as Sunday night it said that there is no save data for that profile and would only let me start again from the damn beginning. Piece of crap.

Anyone else had this or got any ideas what caused it?

Is it visible from the PS2 browser?

I've heard of this happening before.

Long story short either:

The card is playing up (at which point I'd get a new memory card to be on the safe side)

You may have turned the PS2 off while it was still saving?
Had a power interruption while it was still saving?

Or rarer still, but within the realms of possibility, just got a corrupted save. Whether due to a bug in the game or the PS2 or... It happens very very rarely.

Consider the save lost and give some serious thought to buying a new memory card just in case its your card on the way out.

Yes, it shows the game icon and the details show the last save as Sunday

It must have been corrupted as the actual saving completed without issue. I will look at getting a new card today.

It's probably a one-off that will never happen again. However considering the value of all of your game saves, compared to a new memory card... I'd personally not take the chance and go grab a new one.
