More upgrades! SATA150 & SATAII 300 - Are they compatible??

Since I've just upgraded my case, my GPU heatsink (albeit unsuccessfully so far), and bought a copy of ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite, I thought; Let's go the whole way and buy a new hard disk too! 
So my question to you all is, if anyone knows if SATA II (300) drives are compatible on a SATA 150 interface. I ask because for just €70 (45 of the queens pounds), I can get a Hitachi 7K250 160GB SATA Hard disk which seems to be the fastest about for that money. However, for an extra €1 (65p), I can get the big daddy version (T7K250), which is a SATA II version that can run at 300MB/sec and therefore is more future proofed!
