Samsung Galaxy S II

OK i'm totally confused now, over on the Vodafone forum, (might be reading it wrong) but they are saying that check the sales code (CSC - *#1234# ) and it will show if you have a branded vodafone phone or a unbranded one just using a voda sim card. (I bought mine from phones4u) mine shows unbranded.
Now what is confusing is can i still get the offical ICS from whoever, or no hope in hell go root your phone and do it.
To much info on different forums not making sense to simple minded glasses wearing dark skin married 30yrs something handsome chap like myself. lol

Well thats the same code as mine, but on the Vodafone Forum they say we wont be getting the ICS update till later in the year. My CSC is I9100XEUKH2 for what it's worth, also from P4U on Vodafone
Well thats how im reading it. (could be wrong though)
Ok I seem to have 7 copies of every contact in my phone now!
I'm not syncing with gmail (I've deleted all the contacts from that anyway), or anything other than two Active Sync Exchange mail accounts, neither of which have the same set of contacts in.
I can't seem to find a "delete ALL my contacts" option, so I can re-sync with the two exchange accounts and get them back in order.

So it looks like its been released for branded Vodafone customers through kies (OTA not sure yet)
if you on XEU like me (phones4u) we'll have to wait a bit longer, not sure how long.
to check if your using a unbranded (XEU) / branded phone (VOD)
type this into dailer *#272* (IMEI No.) #*
to get IMEI no. *#06#
so in full should look roughly like this *#272*0123456789#* this will show either XEU OR VOD.

Hi there
Can anybody help me out? I updated to ICS last week via Kies - I'm with O2.
Since the update my phone periodically switches off and can only be restarted by removing the battery and replacing it to restart...
It's driving me up the wall...does anybody know how to 'rollback' to gingerbread?
I've contacted O2 and they've been absolutely unless..no support at all..except asking me to go to their store to 'reset' it...but I live a long way from their store and it's not convenient for me just to 'pop' in....
Why can't they tell me how to do this reset over the phone....grrrr..
Does anyone have any ideas?
Thanks in advance!

If going back to stock I recommend the XWLA4 firmware (one of the most up to date gingerbread firmwares). The older ones are probably not there any more.

Still no update for me.
You've got the same as me.Ours will be the very last to get the update. The reason being that our phones are not tied to a network. Meaning that Samsung have to make sure that ICS works OK for every network first, before they release the generic version for 'any' network.
I'm on T-Mobile, but don't have any of the TM bloatware (and don't want it either).

I cant remember how long it was between unveiling of the SGS2 to when it first shipped - 2-3 weeks sounds about right to me!A guy that devolps CM9 for the SGS2 on twitter posted: SGS3 to be announced May 3rd, quadcore 1.5ghz, 4.8" FullHD, 2gb RAM, 32gb storage, BT 4.0, 12MP NFC, HDMI out, ICS... If true, nice!
Hope it comes true!

I went to a SG1 then back to iP4 but want a bigger screen now...the SG3 may be the ticket unless the iP5 has a 4" display.
