If someone can give me a view on the below I am interested.

Be interesting to see how the traction of the car responds to an extra 60 bhp. It can already be a bit of a handful in anything other than dry roads!

Also with the warranty can MB not tell if it has been 'tampered' with?

Hi Guys,

Here is a few Dyno Print outs for some of the Rebellion work.

First is the Rebellion Automotive RA550

Second is the RA550 vs a C63 PPP

Enjoy smile

On the second graph, is this the same car or two different cars?

I'm tempted, I have a non pp+ car.... This is going to run and run but I tink I might get a LSD first, it already lights up tyres with 460bhp, what would 500bhp+ do?

I had my c63 mapped as part of the Eurotuned group buy on MBUK, it doesn't have an LSD. It made little difference to the traction issues as most of the additional power is at 5k revs and upwards. I'm not saying an LSD isn't worthwhile on a c63 but not having one shouldn't stop you getting it mapped.

Could just have an lsd fitted as part of the upgrade.

Right apologies for seeming not to answer any of your questions.... It would appear we have offended some people by being to 'Promotional in our posts' so got sin binned for the day. Anyhow to all we have offended I apologise unless you just did it out of spite ;-p

Anyway I will try to only answer direct questions as one AMG enthusiast to another..

Hi

My first post in the Merc section smile Proud new owner of a (new to me) C63.

I could be interested. I have PP and would be interested in potential gains. I assume as there are upgrades in the engine it can make more power mapped than a non-PP car? I look forwards to comments on this.

Hi Gareth,

I shall try to make this post as much about info as anything else..

When a C63 is mapped, be it pp or non the end result will always reach the same finite approximate number. My p31 car with the SLS internals etc made 515-520 after mapping alone and the starting figure was 493. Now this end figure would have been the same if my car was a non p31.

However cars with the updated internals do tend to rev freer and therefore utilise the power better. Also most worthy of note is that the cars with the factory 30bhp upgrade don't have and increase in torque across the range. However after mapping there is an increase of torque from low in the rpm aswell as the top end power. Also the gearbox sharpens up.

Ive spoken to Phil at Rebellion and he's agreed to do a group buy deal on C63 mapping. Standard price is £699 but he has agreed to £550 a head if we get a handful of names. If you want facts and figures I can find out but from memory I think 515bhp isnt unusual with their tune, bringing it up to almost DR520 figures with better drivability. Not sure when the tuning session will be done but we can work that out as we go. Add names below if youre keen.

1. ecain63 - 2010 PP+
2.
Msl performance birmingham done the remap for £500 so £550 seems expensive for a " Group " price ?

My friend has just ordered a new M5....so I may need something to narrow his win in the game of Trumps (bhp).
Problem being....Aberdeen based.

Depends on the quality of the product. MRC charge £850 for their product but id never say they were expensive as I know the quality of their maps. You can probably pay as low as £400 for a map but id be wondering why it was so cheap.

Indeed, added to the fact that this is local and I know and trust the tuner would all contribute to me going to Rebellion.

I know that Acid and MSL are very respected, but Birmingham is a long way from the south coast for any after sales. For me anyway.

Was a eurocharged remap performed by jerry the owner who flew over from the states just for the event.

The map from Rebellion will be Eurocharged also, I am sure Phil will confirm. So MSL / Rebellion will be same if not similar map. If one is nearer than the other then you can use either.

Agree with the quotes ref costs, some are higher because the quality of the maps are proven, some are just high on old reputation, some are low but can be good, some are low and can be crap. Do your homework, search the forums and improtantly talk to the Tuners. I've used many including MRC, Evolve, MSL / Eurocharged, TCS, DMS and they have been very good, but have used one or two others that were not so good at all.

For those that took advantage of the recently organised Eurocharged / MSL day, plus the previous one back in March, then for the price you also received a bespoke map on the dyno by Jerry of Eurocharged (flew in from the US). C63 owners also had the option of purchasing a MyGenius tool that allows additional maps and map switching, you can do this yourself as it is very easy to do. For the money it was great value, but this was on the back of a very large group buy. I had my CLS done and the results were superb.

The maps for most of the Mercedes range from Eurocharged are already very good indeed, so if just having a flash upload then you'll be more than impressed.

All of the 63's made excellent gains, particularly the one with the carbon intakes.
