Looks like it could be an engine of some sort.

Is that your Christian Grey room Bob?

I have to say that the wheels aren't that impressive though wink

The engine is a dummy, its just there to aid the chassis build, which is sitting on the jig trolley,,,which is not anywhere near me or my precious 'car room'.

I recognise that shed. Awesome.

Did you source the 'right' engine in the end?

Your dummy engine might be Jaguar.

My g*d,,,,okay, okay, okay,,,that little guessing game didn't last very long did it! No wonder really of course, the depth of knowledge of all things Aston Martin on this forum I venture to suggest is on a global scale surpassed by only one other center of Aston-ishment, that being our friends over on the AMOC site.

Jonny, Tony, Ed, you each got it in one, well done. Graham, your attention to detail syndrome I can now see does have its advantages (scary). Jon69, again, spot on, the reg plate for my DBR Le Mans car is MO55 DBR,,,which unbelievably I bought off the DVLA site only last summer. yes

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses.

You're going to have a perfect 2 car garage Bob, a nice contrast between the two.

Thanks Jonny. Yes, alloy body, fitted with the final 4.0 litre version of the Tadek Marek straight 6 engine.

George thank you too. I'll add pictures as the build progresses if there's enough interest.

Enough interest Bob? You are living the dream - building your own car! I for one want to see the pictures please. Just out of curiosity where did you find the engine?

Well for me yes it is a dream but I am mindful that a 'recreation' is not everyones cup-a-tea. The engine was advertised in a number of places last year including Ebay on behalf of the owner by the Duke of London Car and Classic. As I mentioned its a 4.0 litre last variant of the Marek straight 6, fitted with triple 45DCOE Webers as standard, producing 325 bhp. Our idea is to fit a full management system to control fuel injection and ignition, apparently this mod will increase bhp but also makes the engine more 'civilised'. confused
