I googled it but couldn't find a review or video anywhere (apart from the initial review last year) maybe it will go live after they air it on BBC tomorrow night?
When did you place your deposit if you don't mind me asking? Also unfortunately topgear is not on tomorrow night due to the Masters!stoatage17 said:
Hi, If you go to AMG GT | Top Gear then click on to AMG GT | Top Gear (it comes up second not first!) then look to the 1st picture top left of the GHM coloured GT GTR you find the report, it is not a video. Hope that helps .
Just looked it up & it reads well. It's going to be a cracking car! FA57EST said:

Just looked it up & it reads well. It's going to be a cracking car! My dealer can get all my options to show on the online ordering system for my July build except the track package. Anyone heard this? He says a delay of several months is likely if I insist on the cage. I'm not sure I want to wait for the cage as I probably won't track the car but I was hoping to get it to broaden its appeal come time to sell it.

Saw it myself when speccing painted cage.Seems unlikely that the cage component is in short supply?!?
Cage doesn't interfere with regular driving and barely changes load space so I'd say it's a must have if resale is your interest
[quote=Stuart1961]Great review on Top Gear tonight.
This should lead to yet more orders and will assist residuals greatly
Just now have to hope I get one having had a deposit down since last year

I've just switched it on. Wow that is a Christmas tree spec GTR.
Love the look of it & that rear spoiler!
Quoting the GTR was quicker round the ring than the GT3 RS is impressive!

The feature in top gear was great, and to beat a GT3 RS is extremely impressive. even though it was only a tenth.
I think the car is every thing we would have hoped for.
Threesixty, it is, in my opinion, daft not to want a car's residuals to hold up well , and the GTR will no doubt do that.
I suppose you own, or would, a new Maserati and not worry about deprecation! I mean no offense, Maserati make some good cars, I had one many years ago(a new 3200 GT) but they do depreciate a lot, and that nearly always ruins the ownership experience.

Nice review but to be honest I thought it would have achieved a faster lap time!
My car should be arriving in July now, can't wait
CitySlicker, the track was a bit moist, and it was still a fraction quicker than a known track car tool(In the same conditions), the GT3 RS! The Huracan , with more power, lighter and 4 wheel drive, probably a benefit on the tightish and shortish TC track. The Aston Martin Vulcan only bit it by a few 10ths!!My car should be arriving in July now, can't wait

Oh, I want the best possible residual but it's tragically boring to harp on about money and residuals, this isn't Porsche.
In other news I've booked a track day at monza for 2 weeks after delivery, I hope the performance lives upto the hype and that it turns up on time.
Well I for one hope the residuals do remain strong, if not over. Before you cast judgement, there is a logic behind this, and it is certainly not for a few quid 'flippin'. The logic is that as this is the first foray into GT3 territory for AMG, they cannot rely on hype or 'track record' of models past, as Porsche can and do (justifiably or not). The GTR must PROVE itself to be a superb car in its own right, enough to generate real desire which will in turn naturally buoy residuals. This would build a loyal client base and create the incentive for AMG to build even more focused and exciting models, venturing into RS territory and beyond (McLaren/Ferrari?!) I hope, and not stop at this one, which is probably what would happen if the GTR residuals tanked. I placed 2 separate deposits down with separate orders in February 2015, one on the GTR(k.a. GT3 back then) and one on a Black series variant, I sincerely hope AMG continue to evolve the GT range and actually build a black series, so we get to enjoy interesting journey with AMG.In other news I've booked a track day at monza for 2 weeks after delivery, I hope the performance lives upto the hype and that it turns up on time.
I have booked SPA, but that is not until 1st week October. there was mention of a GTR meet up in July or August, is that still on?

Given where the Huracan and GT3RS sit relatively to the Merc on the ring I would've expected it to monster both of them on the TG track. DIdn't JC refer to it as a 'power circuit'? Of course this doesn't make me any less excited to driving mine when it arrives!CitySlicker said:

CitySlicker, If it was a power circuit how did it beat the 1000HP Veyron? Obviously the Ring combines power, in the long straights, and many corners, which suited the GTR, but not the lower powered GT3 RS. It is still a quick car. If you wish to buy a car that will monster almost all competition , on any track(I expect) get a McLaren 720S. I get one in September, and am even more excited about the 720S than the GTR!!
Me too, I'm also expecting a 720S in September! May I ask, are you going for Performance or Luxury?Gassing Station | Mercedes | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
