It's landed so should get mine next week - then straight off to get wrapped and hopefully out on track.
I've just had my AMG GTS wrapped - and they did an excellent job.The same firm wrapped my C63 four years ago.
I know that it may depend on your location - but please feel free to give me a shout if you've not organised it already.
Cheers
M
I'll be applying ppf to the front of mine. What colour wraps are you going for chaps?
However still locked in at the factory due to the airbag issue...... strange how a batch have come through & now all AMG GT models - all 3 variants inc GTR are affected / on hold.
Praying it will turn up asap as desperate to drive it!

I see there is a GTR for sale on eBay (Derby Trade Cars) available from the 1st September at £240,000.
Don't know the Spec but that's quite a premium !
Yes hopefully that dealer will have the car removed and it will alll shunt as forward by a week! Don't know the Spec but that's quite a premium !
I agree that MB UK are trying very hard to stop the speculators pre-sell which is good news.
As an aside, I think a £80k premium is pretty reasonable. The 991.1 GT3 RS premiums were more like £130k for the 1st 6 months or so...similar car in many respects, similar numbers, similar story of not a limited edition but limited production. Now a Merc is arguable not quite as sought after as a Porsche in general terms, but the SLS proved that high end models from AMG do have that prestige / desirability "aura".

I think the £80k premium is ridiculous, possibly £20-30k for really early cars but this will quickly change. Mercedes always build too many cars for the market, they almost couldn't give the SLS away and were discounting them by £50-60k even though they were a fantastic car.
There are people that won't wait a year for one and are prepared to pay a ridiculous premium over the normal price. Let's be honest if someone wants a new one now they won't get one, so the only option is to pay a premium to get one. As every review for the GTR I have read has being excellent, I see with the limited supply (rather than limited numbers) will likely maintain a premium for longer than we perhaps think...........only time will tell !orbtar said:

Is it the 3rd or 4th time you said the same thing on this thread? The market is very different now to how it was 4-5 years ago; look what has happened to the SLS value since! Also the GTS is different enough from the GT R invalidating your assumptions. I think 50% margin is realistic and will most likely soften slowly over time always retaining a premium over the purchase price.
Short run car, over subscribed, glowing reviews, unique rear wheel drive front engine set up in this price bracket etc

Hope you're right but I wouldn't bet on it, if you can sell for anywhere near 50 per cent over you need to bite their hand off.I think 50% margin is realistic and will most likely soften slowly over time always retaining a premium over the purchase price.

Looks great! Is that matt grey or silver? Not sure with the lighting. (Both colours are great)
Well done for getting yours before the airbag problem at the factory. Bet you can't wait to do hundreds of miles over the weekend......
