Any "scene" or collection of people with something in common will have good and bad influences. There are examples all over of stupid people driving stupidly... they have access to a range of cars, like everyone else. I've seen people drive like idiots in all manner of cars, I don't think they are more or less prevelant in C63's. The entry point to ownership is still 18k so not exactly bargain basement motoring.

Were abouts are you based? Do you have any pictures and an idea of what you will want for it?

Is the c63 scene realy that bad? I'm sure there are some meets like after dark carpark types that have some embarrassing owners but surly not many?

Are there any c63 owners on here going to the next ss at santa pod?

Think iv settled on either a black coupe or palladium/tenorite saloon would be nice to see some in the flesh at ss!
Who cares - if you like it that's all that matters.

If it's by the innit crew you might find insurance companies have increased the risk profile of the car - get a quote for one and also the M3 as a comparison

Eddie, I thought you sold your car a while ago ? Isn't this it ?

Yup. That's mine.
They are selling it for you 'sale or return' then ?

What are they saying about the level of interest ? Or why it isn't selling ?

I'm based on the south coast, if you let me know your email I'll drop you some more details and pictures.

I've not met any bad owners, there are of course unsavoury people in all walks of life, but no one forces you to mix with them if you dont want to.

As said ignore other people's blinkered perceptions or experience and never let it put you off buying anything that you want, especially a C63 as they are excellent!

Yup SOR. Had a few viewings (increasing now the weather is good) but everyone looking is from the "scene" I've talked about. Turning up in groups and spending half an hour tyre kicking and taking pics for their insta before telling me or the dealer they can get a PPP for £25k and can get it up to the condition of mine for a couple of grand. "My mate has a garage where we can service and repair". One guy told me the discs needed replacing because they "looked worn". On measuring then they still had 70% life in them, but he still insisted on new discs. Others want an extensive and unnacompanied test drive. Bottom line is current buyers don't want the car to cost anything. They want way over the odds on trade in for their heap of crap and want bottom dollar for the good ones so they can run it on a shoe string like their last.

My honest opinion on why it's not sold is down to the wrap, unfortunately. With that I'm giving it until May and if it's not sold I'm having it removed. Everyone (with a brain) who has seen it has commented on how good the wrap is but it's still a sticking point despite the paint pictures offered. My tough luck on that i guess.

Today i sold the spare discs and pads so that's one less thing to worry about.

Most people can afford the repayments on finance and that is how most will buy a C63. The running costs are what sting owners. That's why many get run into the ground before being traded for something else with 12 months cheap motoring. You'll notice that most PPP cars get sold just before the brakes need doing. People like the idea of owning it but not the reality of keeping it.

I'd agree with that. If i was in the market, i'd pass on a wrapped car in all honesty.

I'd want to see all the panels and paint in their original state.

Agree with that - in a similar theme, I've been told many times that I'd struggle to sell my e63 because I LPG'd it - not that I want to get rid, but I probably will remove it before putting the car up for sale.

However, in ecain's case, surely a buyer would be best sought on PH, as he is well known here for attention to his cars, it's well documented, and you know you'd be getting a good one. If I was in the market for a c63, iI'd be knocking directly on his door...

Probably the reason. A friend had a stunning RS6 less than a year old wrapped by Yiannimize of all people. Didn't sell and then sold within a week as soon as he got the wrap removed.... go figure.

People are odd like that.

Example:

A guy on another public page wanted a red PPP saloon at a similar price point to mine. I offered him mine along with description and history. Not interested as it had been modified and wrapped. Fair enough.

A week later he's bought a 61 plate PPP saloon with more miles for a grand less than mine is up for. It was stock but in collecting it had 3 different brands of tyres fitted and a noisey fan.

Within 2 weeks he's decatted and had a map done as well as fitting some hideous wheels.

So, it's cost him more for an older car with more miles, with no real background and dubious tyres. Go figure.

Does anyone know when the MCT box was introduced? I thought it was facelift cars onwards but have seen a nice 125 edition facelift saloon but says 7g gearbox on the advert?

Advert is wrong. All facelift cars came with MCT.

yeah, the Autotrader options are bizarre. It defaults to 4matic on the W204 C63 for some reason.

If you're looking at facelift saloons you could have mine for a steal. I'm on the verge of punting my PPP to trade if it's not gone very soon. Would be the cheapest on the market by a margin.

I had the option to buy my 2014 C63 at the end of its lease for £33k (it had 20k miles on it). It was immaculate and although it wasn't option heavy, it did have the 19" Multi-spokes, HK sound system and ILS. I never wanted for more. Foolishly I gave it back to MB and took delivery of a W205 C63 and its turned out to be the most regrettable car decision of my life. What a bag-o-sh*te the new model is! If there is any advice I can give to anyone aspiring to own a C63 then its to get a W204 in great condition and to look down your nose at idiots like me with the rattly W205 model.

W204 C63 is an amazing piece of kit so forget about the image on the internet, just buy one and enjoy it.

What do you dislike about the new one?
