Im looking into moving on from my m135i and getting a c63, I've done a fair bit of reading up about them but the main point i was going to ask for some advice on is pre facelift vs facelift and if the newer car is worth the extra? The main difference's i like are the looks, interior and that the gearbox is supposed to be better/faster reacting ect- was wondering how much better it was and if for example you can get the box remapped in an earlier car and its just as good? Obviously a big price difference between the two so i was interested to hear opinions from those who have tried both out. Thanks

Facelift interior is so much nicer.
I'd have software tweaked on gearbox anyway.

I've driven both and the facelift is much nicer inside (which I now own). The price differential wasn't huge at the time I purchased - so if it would cost 5k more to get a facelift, I'd live with a slightly lower rent interior and 5k smile

Depends on the budget?

I have had both. And while the interior and gearbox are better in the FL, I wouldn't let that put me of buying a PreFL if, for my budget, it was in overall in better condition and had les miles/owners ect.

I actually prefer the look of the Pre FL, newer car looks far more sedated...

As above, nothing to be concerned about with the pre facelift. Having had both also, in PPP form i concur the pre is the better looking car. As a machine the facelift is worth the money in my opinion. The box is much better and the interior much improved in quality and design. The facelift is a good half a second quicker 100-200kph thanks to the gearbox also.

Another point to note is the chassis. The facelift is totally revised and handles much better.

I assume you mean understated. Unless you think the post FL car looks a little dozy !
