Hi,
We may be forced to sell the wifes SLK55 shortly, so looking at the SLC43, anyone got one here with AMG ride option, wondering what your thoughts are on the car generally and what you think of the AMG ride option, is it worth having.

Thanks

Our current 14 SLK55 car is Opal red mate, no more to say, I hear there are good few thousand of that colour out there, I will potentially be in a 12 month queue, hence I may want to bail out, still researching my options, but none of them are good.

I have an SLC43 but did not get the adaptive suspension, would have had to wait on a factory order for months. I love this car, it does not have the bellow of the V8 but handles a little better, the sound track is differently awesome and the engine is a peach

I'll second that as I've had one for 12000 miles , great little car that addresses most of the 55s shortfalls , traction control can be fully disabled , gearbox works properly and doesn't change at the limiter , factory lsd and mines been doing 34 mpg recently ! I really must try harder .
And a relative bargain compared to most other cars of its type

My '14 SLK is also Fire Opal...

MB (well Marshals) re-sprayed it and it looks superb!

I reported the issues on the last day of the (original 3 year) warranty in May last year and they offered to re-spray it in July. I asked them to wait until September when I was on holiday, which they did. So you may not be in a 12 month queue, depending on your dealer.

I did think of bailing out, but love the car so am likely to keep it quite some time... so any likely impact on re-sale value is of less importance to me.

There is a long thread on the issues at SLKWorld.

Edited to add that I am in Sussex as well - Marshals are in Chichester and Southampton.

You realise the R172 55 does all of these things right?

TTRS for me next I think. Just something about the SLC43 that doesn't appeal to me - not even the lack of the V8 as the handling is improved and it looks great in person too. I wonder what the next iteration of SLC will bring.

I'm just shaking your chain as I know your defensive of the 55 . I don't think the slc or 172 slk is a particularly good looking car but they do tick a lot of boxes for usability and having a laugh in .
Ttrs sounds like a good idea but 4 wheel drive ?

I would miss being able to push the back end out when I want a bit of fun, but at the same time I wouldn't miss the lack of grip for such a large portion of the year when I want to get maximum power down. The TT is certainly much more planted.
