Hi all. Just a quick message to say thanks for all the material/advice/stories shared on the Merc section of the forum....after 2 years my C63 was sold. Have to say ever since it first came out I always knew I had to find a way to get one and then I was lucky enough to find one at a dealer a few years ago! Done plenty of trouble free miles and lots of trips with the family...ultimate family barge for me with a legendary engine and that sound is one I'll miss dearly.

I was hoping to keep it for the longterm but I've had a bit of a classic Porsche itch I've been needing to deal with and now is the time to do that so it's time unfortunately, I had a private C63 plate on the car too which I originally was gonna keep just in case I get back into it one day but having seen some of the repair bills on a classic 911 I think I'll need all the spare change I can get!smile

Anyway - would love to be in a 6.2 again one day,who knows it might happen!

For any of you who are thinking about it...just do it...it's a truly amazing ownership experience having an M156 engine! Hope I'm back one day

All the best

I was wondering what would make you let the 63 go. A classic Porsche for sure. I sold my 63 (W164) last year but am back in another 63 (W164) again smile

The M156 is epic at fall chat, have fun in the 911.

Thanks for the message. Yes I did think id hold onto it for a long time (although as far as daily cars go its the longest I've owned one in recent times). Classic 911, just beginning to get out of reach so i'm hoping for lots of trouble free miles for a few years whilst the kids are young and actually want to go places with me smile

if the classic is good to me who knows, might be able to get a 100k miles C63 and run it as a daily :P

Impressed with mine bought a month ago - surprisingly sharp handling at speed really feels closer to my TVR than an estate.

A keeper for a while so treated to remap & decat, quaife diff and wrap of chrome to tone it down a bit (yes I know it's red!) Darker wheels next... smile

I love the title of this thread and the write up... I am trying to convince the wife I need a C63, this thread will go in my business case to the wife in an effort to get the purchase authorised :-)

Hope the thread helps! I mean it genuinely as prior to this I had a jaguar XFR which was also immense with the 5.0V8 supercharged but honestly that 6.2 engine and the sound it's something that you have to experience!

From a practical standpoint, daily drop offs at the nursery for my girls, road trips down to Devon and across into Mainland Europe...never missed a beat...apart from getting super friendly with your local filling station it's super usable. I too was surprised at its handling characteristics for an estate. Hope it's not the last one I own!
