Hi,

Just a quick question about Mercs approved used warranty.

Do you have to use the main dealers for servicing for the warranty to be honoured, or can you use a Merc specialist?

Thanks

As I have been lead to believe, as long as services are done by a Mercedes garage using Mercedes parts and service book stamped the warranty should be OK.

Cheers Ade

I know with a new Merc, the warranty is honoured as long as the car is serviced as per schedule and with genuine Merc parts. Was just wondering if that's the same for used Mercs purchased under the approved used scheme as the warranty is slightly different. Ive tried googling the answer but couldn't get anywhere and I know what the dealer will say if I ask them.

Don't underestimate the value of goodwill that may be available through having the car main dealer serviced, I think it's available up to 5 years according to another's post on a recent thread.

My car was nearly out of warranty and the paint started peeling from the corner of the bumper - I got a brand new bumper painted and fitted and a courtesy car whilst it was in. I expected them to say it could've been caused by me, a poor repair or similar, but there was no quibble. When I registered the claim, the first thing they did was ask if the car was up to date with servicing then checked the computer to verify.

I may have had the claim accepted anyway, I may get better service by an indie, who knows, but for me it's been peace of mind,

I've just had a read of the warranty small print. The car will need to be serviced by an authorised MB dealer if the warranty is to be honoured.

Thanks to those who replied.
