Production delay for new E Class

Just to add my ha’penny worth on ride comfort. Not as good as the S class I had previously, but pretty close. Handling, however, is excellent for a big car. Turn in is sharp, poised and pretty outstanding really (though I’m still running in so not giving it any beans at the moment).
I’m really interested in the extended QC and what it relates to. I have a sharp edge on the chrome piping joint round the centre cubby hole area (the cup holder flap area) so am pretty sure there was no white glove feel over like Bentley do! A Dremel will sort it but it’s annoying nonetheless on a 100k car (pre discount of course ;-) )

I asked that, and have been told there categorically isn’t an issue. It’s due to the backlog of checks they are having to conduct apparently. When I found out about this last week I was told that due to having made a complaint, my car would be prioritised and dealt with as quickly as possible. What a load of bowlocks that turned out to be. Neither my dealer or AMG CS can tell me where it is in the queue, when it might be checked, when it might be on a boat, when it might be PDI’d, when it might arrive at the dealer, or when I might get the keys. It’s a complete joke.
I’ll never be buying another Mercedes ever again, that’s for sure. Shocking company to deal with.

Ask them, as a gesture of goodwill, to supply you with a '63' engined car while they carry out their investigations. If they're sitting there with your money, it's the least they can do...Signed for my E63S late 2017 and pre-paid by giving MB my 911 Turbo S Cab in exchange. MB promised March delivery but have since delayed and delayed with no clue in sight. I've now told MB that this is getting close to plain breach and that there's a limit to one's patience. Also said that I'd go buy something equivalent and charge MB any extra cost, which will be around 20.000 for an equally spec'ed M5.
Why do they keep selling the E36S and take payment in full with a smile knowing they can't perform their part of the contract?
I was told that the screen was the issue, next that the ceramic breaks are the reason. Don't believe any of it. Think it's something more serious causing production to stop in avoid big scale re-calls.

Latest news... my email to the CEO was picked up this morning. The latest is that it’s going to get worse before it gets better. They reckon I’m looking at another month before this stupid car gets to me. There’s definitely nothing wrong with my specific car, and is simply a backlog of cars selected for extra QC. They’re going to try and get me in a “63” of some variety until it arrives.
