I'm considering a Merc ML for Wifey and I'm undecided whether to stick with main dealer servicing, or go indy

Has anyone used Monarch Independent near Lichfield?

Not sure about Monarch, but depending on where you are in Staffs I can recommend ACMS (https://www.acms-mercedes.co.uk/) in Walsall - they used to look after my AMG and was always happy with the work and prices.

TBH I'd struggle to recommend Merc unless your car was very new - their prices (for me, at least) were horrendous. They wanted £1500+Labour to fix my manifold, they did it at ACMS for £150. Services were nearly half the price, and Merc charged me £250 to change a sensor that ACMS would have done for £80.

For me it'd be a local independent every time.

Monarch Independent are fantastic. They service all my mercs and upload all info to Mercedes. Like going to a main dealer but honest, reliable and above all cheaper. Tim the guy that owns it is great and has over 30 years experience of Mercedes and a trained Merc engineer. hope this helps .
