Just put a deposit down on a 2013 CLS63 at a main dealer. Part of the deal is a 2 year Mercedes warranty. I can buy a 3rd year for £1600 if I want.

Bearing in mind the car has 56k miles do you think its a good idea? (I got a quote for a car with over 60k miles and it goes up hugely, well over £3k)

Also anyone know if the used warranty can be transferred to a new owner if I sell within the 3 years?

I have owned both a coupe and 2xSB 2nd Gen CLS (diesels) and the reliability was bullet proof in all of them, only even had one intermittent electrics fault whilst covering 25k per year. However, the 5.5 engine is a different beast and, without knowing how much of its performance has been used and in what manner, I would absolutely pay the money and have peace of mind. When compared to fuel, insurance and tyres the £1600 is probably one of the better ways to spend your money.

Enjoy the car!

Yes it can be transferred to the new owner. (I think it costs £25 admin fee)

The warranty can be extended every year up until 100,000 miles.

It gets expensive after 60,000 miles.

As your car will have over 60k after 2 years you will be looking at the higher number.

Thanks.
Yes they seem to more than double over 60000 miles. That's why it was do it now and pay £1600 or not at all.

I decided not to take it in the end. I have 2 years warranty as it is.
With my habit of serial car swapping, the chances of having it in more than 2 years is probably slim. Although so far I absolutely love it.

That's quite high mileage for a 2013. I've always paid the extended warranty on mine.

This year I've had two new rear suspension airbags and a new windscreen and intelligent lighting system sensors replacing. That work along paid for it.

Well right now mine is in having the engine stripped 😣
I first noticed a slight knocking/rattling noise after start up so got the mod done (one in the link above) but that didn't fix it.
Mercedes UK now involved. Glad I bought it from a main dealer.
