Hi all,

I have recently bought a 2013 Jag XF S. Randomly, today, the passenger front daylight running light won’t go off, at all. Even when locked. Have tried taking auto lights off, checked stalk wasn’t down for parking light. If you stick your ear next to it, it does make a slight buzzing. The other one doesn’t.

I’m a bit stuck as to what to do!? Any thoughts or ideas? Hoping being an LED it won’t drain the battery but won’t get my hopes up.

Thank you. Mark

With most JLR gremlins, try lock, leave, unlock, ign on, relock, leave, fixes most issues like this. Or battery pulled & do redo the same.

It will be a fluky module of some sort, in need of a reboot, its standard, JLR is the automotive of Microsoft.

Haha! Have done most of that, but haven’t pulled the battery yet. But will try again in the morning and see what happens. On charge tonight as been sat for a bit, so eliminating the ‘weird things happen when the battery is getting low’ scenario

Did notice this random floating plug when putting charger on, any ideas what it might be?

That’s a delivery thing when new. Nothing to do with the lights.

Earth-leak on the light connector perhaps. Try taking it off and reconnecting it a few times to get a decent circuit again. I used to get similar with old Ford displaying all the rear light when reversing. I had to take some emery cloth to the male part of the connector.

I had a similar problem with my XF. I would park the car with everything off including auto lights only to come back to the car and find my DRLs on. Light stalk was found to be at fault and replaced accordingly.

Has anyone solved this issue?
My 2013 XF has just done the same thing. The front nearside DRL came on while parked on the drive. It is dimmed approx 50% and making a faint buzzing noise.
There was a red triangle warning on the driver info panel but when I pressed it it displayed a message " refer to owners manual" therefore useless
Any advice most welcome

My local garage found problem. Headlamp washer pump leaking, this is directly above main loom. Washer fluid had soaked into loom, tracked along into multi pin and then into main PCB . They managed to clean all corroded pins and connectors, revealed loom and relaxed pump. Now OK but could have been a disaster. Apparently common known fault on this model, Jaguar issued service bulletin but won't help you. They fitted better pump from 2015
