I think I've read about this before but cant find any trace. I have been out in my 2005 Aston Martin Vantage and went to get some fuel but the drivers door would not open from the inside. Passenger door was fine. I had to lower the drivers window and open from the outside ?Any ideas?

Could be the door module but try the window reset procedure first, which is detailed in the FAQs at the top of this page.
If it is the door module, it may need a reflash or a replacement part.
How’s the battery? Often low voltage will create havoc in these cars so make sure that is in good order, not just for this but as a general rule.
Good luck!

Tried the window procedure and that did not on this occasion work but a useful tip to remember going forward. I guess its back to the main dealer in Brentwood?£££££?

it is a cable like a bicycle brake cable inside the door, maybe that give away... not much else can go wrong if it is working from the outside

Thanks, if they say it is more complicated than that I can be on my guard and ready, Cheers. It only stops working when the central lock kicks in either when the car pulls away or the lock on/off switch on the center console near the gear stick is switched after I have opened from the outside it opens normally????weird?? Thank you for getting back......

Had a similar issue on my 2009 V8, on the passenger side. Door would not unlock at all, neither from inside nor outside. It would take a couple of lock-unlock attempts to make it work. Similarly, the door would not lock sometimes.

The dealer told me it is a fairly common issue, and replaced the locking mechanism (around 380 EUR). It is an item covered by warranty if you have it.
