PS4S (not the standard PS4) are perfect if you can get the right fitments. I've had Conti 6, PSS and PS4S on my C63 and C63S and the PS4S is a brilliant tyre.

Echo the above. Just fitted the PS4S’s all round to the 2016 c63s estate and they’re a noticeable improvement on the Super Sports

Thanks both for the quick response and feedback.

Anything specific about wet traction. I know these cars need a sensitive right foot in the wet and cold but my well worn PSS are lively!

They're great in the wet. Basically the best all-round tyre in my view.

Echo all the above comments.

I've got 19" rims on my 2013 C63 Coupe and they came with Conti Sport Contacts (can't remember which ones). I then opted for another set but a year later replaced the rears with MPSS because of a huge nail in one of them and there was not much tread left. I seem to remember it being real easy to lose traction with the Contis and the MPSS were a marginal improvement.

During May 2018, I replaced all the rubber with PS4s. The tyre bloke told me there was still over 6mm of tread left on the MPSS rears, so they are still sitting my garage as "spares".

I've found the PS4s to be a huge improvement and after over 10,000 miles, there is still plenty of tread left on them.

The wear-rate (or lack of) on the PS4S is basically witchcraft.

So after all the good advice..

I can get the rears in MPS4s but not the fronts (it was the other way around a few months ago)!

Have rung around a few places and whilst some are showing availability on line for the fronts they dont’ know when the new supply will be coming in. Come on Michelin. Makes me worry in future if I get a puncture and not being able to replace a matched set.

Looks like I will be trying the brand new Goodyear supersport tyres that have just come out and are available.

Does anyone have any articles reviews of the MP4S and the Pilot super sports?

There is a piece on a website called tyrereviews which covers just that although is mainly focussed on dry grip.

Update:

Fitted Goodyear Eagle F1 SuperSports two weeks ago. 19”

I wanted Michelin PS4s but could not get the size as out of stock.

My initial views on the Goodyear (compared to part worn Michelin Pilot Super Sport which I had from new)

Comfort - feels the same as the Michelin, maybe slightly less jarring on potholes
Handling - I am no Lewis Hamilton but feels just as good.
Noise - quieter on motorway but nothing significant.
Traction - big improvement. Goodyears seem to need less heat in them to grip the road. Dry traction - no wheel slip or traction control cutting in when accelerating from standstill. Wet grip huge improvement. Much less traction control intervention under hard acceleration and car feels much more stable. Biggest change for me and has made the car much more driveable in all weather.

I highly recommend the Goodyears if you need new tyres

I used PS4S through last winter but obviously not in the worst of conditions. They held up fine with a steady foot.

Watching this too - I’m intending on running it with MPSS that are there (ample tread depth).

I put my Dunlops on today (winters). They do make a difference in the rain as it gets colder and the tyres offer more grip on dry but cold roads. Well worth he investment if you are driving from mid Nov until mid March across the UK.

What tyres are these / sizes and are they for the 19's or 18's - don't really want to have ti buy a new set of alloys too!

Heavy frost here in Oxfordshire this morning let’s see how these all seasons PSS work. (I suspect totally fine by simply being sensible with the throttle & leaving it in comfort - not full on attack mode)

Just ordered two new 19inch rears, MPSS as noticed mine were almost bald ( hence the slight squirming driving for the last few days ) - they don't last long do they! £199 each! ouch frown

Costco have a deal on at the moment £100 off when you buy a set of 4 Michellin.

In the icy conditions the other morning it was totally fine no lost traction whatsoever (though it was heavy traffic and I didn’t go over 2k revs in 50 miles.... might have something to do with it)

So are these ok for winter, cold under 7 degrees and wet / icey etc - how would they handle in normal warmer conditions, what i am saying is are these better to use now, then the MPSS?
