I have had a couple of A-classes as loan cars from the dealership. Not really might sort of thing, lots of stuff I wasn't keen on tbh.

But the A200 engine was very impressive I must say. The saloon looks pretty good in pictures too. Anyone got a saloon on the way?

I can see something like the A250 with 4wd being quite a nice car, bar the annoyances of the interior design.

Thanks. Good that it gives you actual dates.

Does that mean if you returned the car 2 weeks early on 10 April 2020, you would not have to do a service as it is not due yet?
I don't lease an A class but I am on my fifth Merc lease (SLK, SLK, E class coupe diesel, E class coupe petrol, E class estate diesel) and these have been through a variety of funders, including MBFS who are the most strict.

You can go 30 days past the "service due" date without penalty (or up to 1000 miles), I've given a couple back with the service light on.I do 15K miles pa.

Depending on your funder you may not have to have the car serviced at a main dealer; MBFS are particular about this, but my current funder, ALD, just say that it has to be a VAT registered garage. This is good as I have taken a 3 year lease this time so that I can "amortise" the £600 it cost me for a towbar.

So the way it works, unless you're doing daft mileage) is

number of services you need = length of lease in years - 1

If you guys are on 1 year leases you should not need to have a service.

If you have leases > 1 year what I do is get the first service about 20 days past the due date (perfectly permissible) and this then gives you a buffer for the next one.

Check with your funder.

250Mb map update came down and installed without a hitch this morning using the cars data connection (put my phone onto flight mode to prove it wasn't using mine!!).

Also started using the Hey Mercedes functionality and actually works well. Pleasantly surprised!

I didn’t add the option, I couldn’t justify the extra £40ish per month when as standard it comes with cruise control and speed limiter - I have been spoilt with adaptive cruise control on my Cupra, but only use it on the motorway and I spend most of time in the city / on A roads.

what about the aluminium add on for interior read somewhere you should add this for the full benefit of the ambient lighting.

Yes, believe that is the case.

I added it (only thing I did) even though I wasn't interested in (nor did I get) the LED lighting as the interior is very dark without it. Looks good.

AMG-Line interior with aluminium option. No other options.

Interior after my 11 year-old replaced the outside to hide the bins. biggrin

so when added with ambient lighting is the only difference that with aluminium is that the ambient light is added into the door storage part , had read on a class forum about it but not very clear what actual benefit of adding it or what the difference is

I’ve found pics with and without the aluminium trim, you still get the ambient lighting in the door bin and internal door handles, but the ambient light is missing from the top part of the door.

I don’t like how Merc didn’t describe this lack of lighting if you don’t spec the trim in its brochure.

The aluminium trim does look good, but do I stump up £120 for a purely visual option on something I won’t own, hmmmmm.

Here is the pic of the standard ambient lighting with no aluminium trim.

You mention that you specced no other options but it looks like you have Apple CarPlay. Did you get this activated after?

Anyone noticed that when you fill up with fuel you can hear it sloshing about when coming to a stop or moving off?
Never ever had that on any other car. Very odd!

Got my order confirmation from Perth Mercedes for my A250 amg line premium in Polar white. 3+23 @ £248.11, 5kpa. Estimated delivery 30/07/19, happy to wait longer though as current lease doesn't end till a few months after that.

Yes, upgraded after.

MBUX looks pretty but I really missed better navigation (Apple maps, waze , google), Spotify, audiobooks, audible and full text message integration.

One of the first things I noticed. Very poor IMO.

They will hold the vehicle for 6 months after it lands which would take it to the new 69 plates.
That's good to know, thanks

Honda Civic does that too - fuel tank is under the driver's seat. Mind you, it does give you a good amount of extra capacity: I got 54l of diesel in to a 50l capacity tank after a long trip... whistle
