I drove this one last year and it was an amazing piece of kit. A bit heavy but loads of grunt and like an easy handling TVR.

To be honest, so far so good, I really like it. It gives you a nice feeling when you get in it. The noise is great, plus it is quick.

Late to this thread but I thought I would write I am on my second GTC . Love the car it is wide but have got used to this. Borrowed a GTR for a day and could not tell the difference in performance (on the road)
but noted the GTC exhaust noise is more noticeable (fabric roof) sounds amazing roof down. Have owned four wheel drive cars, naturally aspirated cars , rear/ mid engined cars but for some fun on the road turbo charged, rear wheel drive front engine.

Saw my first GTC the other day. Got proper presence. Wide and low. Was really impressed with it.

Seriously considering a GTC now they are around £90k before negotiations.

Couple of questions you may be able to help with on the GTC pre facelift.

Are the driver’s assistance and night packs desirable, and what are they?

Is the width an issue for daily driving and parking in standard parking spaces?

Real world mpg? (Just for info)

Any issues with stone chips on the front of the car and windscreen? Reason I ask is a friend has the use of a GTR and has suffered a lot of stone chips and cracked windscreen twice in only a few thousand miles.

Thanks in advance.

Must be just me then...

I recently test drove the GTC to see if worth getting, but found it... lacking somehow.

I will keep my GTS I think.

GTC for the looks and the four wheel steering imho. I got this instead of a Porsche and have never looked back. Night pack is just a black finish pack for certain trim, looks quite good but not a must have. I also prefer the previous circular buttons to the current ones. Eastern Mercedes Newbridge were first class to deal with.

Thanks for the info. Is it your dd?

No, occasional use only and never in salt/grit conditions.

I saw cars which had severe front end road chips, and thought these had perhaps been tracked. Mine has none of that, but has only covered maybe 4,000 miles. I don’t find width an issue, nor parking, though clearly you have to be careful.

It is an extremely fast car, and highly manoeuvrable.

When I got my GTC roadster I had the Merc garage repaint the nose cone as there were a number of stone chips. Like mentioned above, it seemed so ‘bad’ that I wondered if the car had been tracked too. Since then (a year ago) I have accumulated a few small clips on the repainted bumper over 2500 miles. I also have a small chip on the windscreen, which is barely noticeable but I know it’s there. Auto glass wouldn’t do anything with it, it’s that small.

I have got concerns about the exposed cooling radiators and the fact that they seem to be so exposed that they could easily become damaged. I have had a discussion with Mercedes about this, as I have noticed on a later model on a forecourt (mine is a 67 plate) that they now come with a modicum of extra protection. I read on tinternet that there’s a debate raging in the USA about these exposed radiators. There is a retro fit part available....not checked if it is available here in UK. I suppose all the above applies to the other models of GT too.

I did have the pre- Panamericana grilled AMG GTS for a year in 2016 and did 3000 ish miles in it. I honestly cannot recall picking up a single stone chip.....maybe in the end it’s jus5 luck???!!!

Thanks brin. Very helpful.

Yes the rads are very exposed, it was one of the first things I noticed about my friend’s GTR, bit concerning but he’s not had any rad damage yet.

I agree, if there is a solution to this I would be delighted to know about it.

I don't find the width a problem when driving (including country roads) but you do have to be careful in carparks. The width makes opening the (long) doors a problem in tight spaces.

I had ppf on the front and rear (car's still got one stonechip through the protection in 8k miles).

I find drivers assistance pack is great when using as dd and spending time in traffic. It never loses concentration for a second and can see clearly in all weathers and times of day.

Sharpness of turn in and low-wide looks are the main attractions for me over the GTC over the GT/GTS.

Mpg is 20-25 for me typically. Not much of a challenge to get below that with a clear road!

Hi guys, can anyone advise the approx servicing cost, I assume annual minor then major.
Also, (as I am used to Porsche) does Mercedes offer extended warranties, and what is the cost for these ?

Thanks in advance
