I’ve just been Out to try a new SL63, as an alternative to my R8 Plus, and really enjoyed it, so I’ve put down a deposit and will pick it up on Monday.

The trade in on the Audi was not great so I’m keeping it for now.

Does anyone have anything I ought to know about the new car?

It’s on delivery miles, 19 Reg, white (the cheap white, I think they call it Bell Fridge White) with “night” pack and a decent set of options on it.

Off tomorrow to look at a Mercedes for the wife, too. I’m hoping to get her something to match, a white 2017 Smart ForFour.

The new one is due very soon. Whether that’s an issue for you?

I’d. It realised that.

It has delivery miles and was well under £80,000, so I don’t think it was a bad level to buy at. The new one will likely be well over £100k, I think, which would be more than I was looking to spend.

You bought a new SL63 starting with a 7, that sounds like a great deal to me.

Unfortunately mine failed after six months of ownership but it turned out it wasn't serviced properly so I handed it back. Phenomenal cars, very underrated in the UK for whatever reason plus I like the folding hard top, SL replacement will have a fabric roof.

I absolutely loved the SLK55 that I had, and would probably be happy with one again, but I’ve had a hankering for an SL for quite a few years now, so thought it was time to give one a try.

Congratulations, it should be a wonderful car. I have an 05 SL55 and it's still a wonderful car even after all these years.

Enjoy it
