Looking to get a new car, and fancy a V8 smile

I have a budget up to 50k, but, could be interested in a much cheaper car.

I like the Bi-turbo coupe, they carry quite a premium over the saloon/estate though? Because of the bespoke body modifications?

The ‘S’ is obviously better, but, worth the extra money?

Another of my options, is a Mustang.

I had a similar thread not long ago, hope it's a small help.

Then my situation changed, I'm keeping the 4 and have ordered a Taycan.

To be frank the S is rare and used hold a notable premium over the C63.

Out of the box the C63 is plenty fast enough - you’d never drive mine thinking one thing this car lacks is grunt.
In addition apparently just like the E55k they make a lot more power than quoted - it appears to be around 530-540bhp on the stock C63.

Also the more recent ones have exhaust muted a touch over the S205 the WtLP issue I think.
Mine a 16 as new I think the only difference really is the latest in infotainment

These are the the current day Hammer - I like the coupe shape but I think the cooler and much more Q car is the S205 C63/wagon.

530-540bhp, seems optimistic?

I have the saloon, they both look good but the coupe has wider arches and a wider track too which betters handling.

The S package includes the electronic LSD, dynamic engine mounts, power upgrade and race mode maybe other bits but those are the headlines. I'd definitely go S again but haven't driven a non S to compare.

I think the coupe is a bit more expensive to begin with, a coupe is typically anywhere between 5-10k more!

1 year on in mines and I still love the grunt, the standard exhaust, cold start, both windows down and driving through small streets it grumbles, echoes and sounds amazing!

I went to see an edition 1 that had an akropovic and it sounded amazing, very loud though even on just idle. If I could stretch I'd go edition 1 just for the interior cross stitching and get magno (matt grey) paint.

So, what exactly is the Edition 1? It looks to just be the cross-stitched seat?

Is it the same 7Speed wet clutch in the M157 and M177 ?

The S204 C63 has lovely tailpipes - that are real and the. Noise is just utter filth.

It’s hilarious how the exhausts extend about 2/3” out after you’ve been giving it the beans for a while, such great cars- I have a 507 edition, last of the 6.2 V8- love it.

S204 C63 is the wagon 6.2
W204 C63 is the saloon 6.2

S205 C63 is the 4.0 TT
W205 C63 is the 4.0 TT

I cannot remember what the coupe designation is

Officially, C205 is the coupé designation.

Another useful few pages of fact and opinion on C63 ownership linked here:
https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?h=0&...

Yes the coupé has a number of enhancements over the saloon/estate, including a wider track, and is a little more expensive as a result.

I myself couldn't justify paying the extra for the S for what it offers over the standard C63.

I've had mine nearly 3 years now:

3 yr PCP ends in March, so it is decision time on keep or replace.

At the moment I am leaning toward keeping it. I do v few miles - I have covered 8k miles from new - so the car is still in much the same condition as the day I picked it up.

I can't quite find anything I want to replace it with. I have considered many possibilities within the Mercedes marque: E53 coupé, CLA 35 or 45s, and outside of the marque: Maserati GT, Alfa Giulia QF, M4.

Nothing ticks the boxes for what I want as well as the C63 coupé. Both the look of the coupé and the sound of the V8 TT win out each time I consider a replacement.

So from an owner's point of view, I would happily recommend it.
