Being delicate here but it looks like a fair chunk of the 3rd party Merc mechanics will be having issues.
Recent changes Merc have introduced seem to have removed access to certain on line facilities these guys need to use

Perhaps Merc need to stop screwing their customers & ripping them off...!!!!!

Any idea what access has been rescinded? The EU and US regulations both mandate access to information for vehicle repair and maintenance... It seems reasonable to assume that would include access to STAR, Mercedes may argue otherwise, but certainly for now we're under the same regs as the EU.

Independents being able to access manufacturer-specific toolsets keeps competition in the market... To me the only acceptable alternative would be to scrap the need for manufacturer-specific toolsets and have only standardised diagnostic information. With closed shops like Tesla getting away with it you can see why the other manufacturers might want to take that approach too.
