A wealth of information on this thread.

Question which I've actually not been able to ascertain the answer to by reading the COMAND and Manual of the W205 - can you show the front and side parking sensors on the COMAND display? Specifically without 360 camera but with the Options 235 Park-Pilot with Parktronic, and Option 44 parking pack (whatever that actually is)

TIA

If I understand your question correctly...

I don't have the 360 camera (just the rearview), I do have the auto park thing (whatever option that is). The front four sensors display in the top of the central dash display, the rear four sensors are shown in a LED cluster in the headlining which you can see in your rear view mirror. When in reverse and the camera comes on for the rear, there is also a visual representation of the car with sensors and distances shown in the bottom right of the display (along with the alignment lines and steering guide).

I have a 2018 C63S coupe and have owned it for nearly two years. Other than servicing and tyres its only cost £225 for a coil pack so pretty reliable. Personally prefer the look and the drive of the coupe over the saloon and convertible but would I would have the convertible as a 2nd choice. Friends say the back of the coupe is pretty good for space but it is a squeeze getting in and out.

Originally I wanted a 911 and had been saving for years but when the time came I visited a large warehouse in Bristol full of exotic machinery and they had to move the 63 to get the Porsche out and I fell in love as soon as it started and rattled the building. Its fun at speed but very happy pottering around at 30mph with the roof open and the exhaust in gargling loud mode.

Although they are very reliable they are not cheap to run, yes they drink petrol but can ave 35mpg at 70mph on the motorway and can average high 20's in mixed driving but when you put your foot down you can almost see the fuel gauge moving it drinks fuel that quickly. They are also a heavy car so will eat consumables like tyres and brakes fairly regularly so if you want the real Michelin PS4S tyres they are over £1,000 a set and the Brembo brakes are scary to replace as well.

I have the monthly service pack on my car which is around £50 a month over 36m which is pretty good value when it covers 2x B services and 1x A service which is around £2,500 if you pay on the day and £1,800 over the term.

So long as you go into it expecting the odd big bill for consumables and buy your local petrol station manager a Xmas card I think you will be fine. The forums usually pick up issues and you don't really hear of any.

With the new version set to be a 4 cylinder hybrid I plan to keep it to remind people of the good old days of noise, vibration and fizz after the world has gone electric.

Does anyone have any recommendations on oil for a W205 C63S?

I know MB specify a spec of 229.5 IIRC but that seems to apply to 5w-40 and 0w-40.

Any suggestions on which weight to go for? Obviously I’m not sure what’s in the car right now but I shouldn’t think an odd top up will matter if it still meets spec.

Thanks
