Hi picked up S55 Kompressor on Saturday

Wow .

The acceleration is really amazing, up with the super cars.

Compared to my old s class they have even firmed up the handling and given more weight and feel to the steering.

is it the 375(?)bhp one or the 500bhp one? (I know the s55 jumped significantly in power during a revamp at some point relatively recently....)

I think looking at the pipes its the
"Full Fat + Extra cholesterol" version

Full fat it is 500bhp 700nm 0-62.5mph 4.8 secs, 0-125mph 16.3 secs and it feels it, even on a dry straight it will spin the wheels at 40 with the traction control on . Amazing a car this size will out drag a 996 Carrera

However they have just announced a Double Fat with Whipped Cream and Chocolate Chips .
S65AMG V12 biturbo 612bhp 1000nm torque 0-62.5 4.4 secs

Looks the same but with split rim 19 alloys, released to special order in December, that will give TVRs, 996 turbos etc a real fright.

That is absolutely ridiculous, a danger to other road users and a total waste of natural resources.

Edited to say: Damn top car by the way !!! I have always loved the S55 - an amazing car through and through. The S65 sounds like a lot more money and oomph for not alot more time off your 60sprint. I guess torque through the range will be alot nicer though. Thing is....if you're looking at S65 sort of money (or even S55!?) you should have this little person sat on your shoulder in a red devils costume whispering into your ear....

(having said that, the Brabus look is a very personal taste. My opinion? That you have an absolutely wonderful car there and you'll enjoy every minute of it !)

Out of interest how far could something like this be pushed / tweaked / boosted / twiddled? Even the 600bhp isn't a huge bhp for the engine capacity?

Of course when the numbers get really big problems such as cooling / too much torque for the gearbox can crop up. Beyond a certain point it must get down to gambling on decreased reliability?
