I've had x3 SLK's now and the last one kept me alive in a 80mph head on with a drunken A6 driver... for the all round features and the best of both roadster/coupe/summer/winter - i have enjoyed them more than my boxster (hence awaiting the arrival of my new 376bhp SLK later this year)

I too have pondered the Boxter vs SLK debate.

I (like you I imagine) am interested in the qualities that make a car a good all-rounder, rather than just a racing car.

Would you care to elaborate further?
