Just bought this a bit of a project, all works and is completely rust free/ low mileage but unfortunately would nearly qualify for the badly modified car thread! its complete with amg badges and drl's but luckily allways fully serviced and well maintained. Just lacking in taste!
Definitely a great base vehicle though so will be put completely back to original as its a 93 300.
Should look great once again
Do my eyes deceive me, is that a boot spoiler? Definitely a great base vehicle though so will be put completely back to original as its a 93 300.

It is a boot spoiler and I think it can now be yours to keep and treasure.

Here is my Magno Mercedes E63 AMG and my newly acquired project SLK 230
The SLK was an impulse purchase that needs the roof fixing (micro switch), but is in great condition and has only done 64k - once fixed I will drive in for a few months over the next year and will move it on, but I actually really like it!

Very nice, what sort of mileage has it got.
93,000. Looks and smells brand new inside.Coil packs and front suspension done so touch wood.
Very disappointed it doesn't have the fridge in the back though!
Getting used to driving an auto again. It's a rocket ship but a bit more "well mannered" than my old TVRs!
(Also take the pee out of pals with private number plates, now I've inherited one!)

Just run in then, obviously a good dose of brave pills were consumed. The coil packs and the ABC system can be a bit of a 'Sword of Damocles' hanging over ownership but after a month or two it disappears and you can enjoy ownership and trips to the fuel station.
Already enjoying ownership immensely and yes I'm on first name terms at all local petrol stations! Around town it is dreadful around 12mpg but got 27 on a motorway run and around 20 on spirited local mixed driving. So the lesson is clear...drive faster. The previous owner spent £13k over 4 years on it including the items mentioned above. I'm hoping that means the main work is done rather than setting a benchmark yearly figure. We'll see.
It is a helluva car for the money though, as I say it looks and drives almost brand new to me, it is so well put together. I will make sure it is looked after well (I have a mechanic pal who spent 10 years at Mercedes) and I'm hoping if/when I eventually sell to get my money back (I've been watching them for a while and they seem to be drifting slowly upwards if anything). I reckon I can absorb a large bill or two and it will still be VFM motoring in my book. (I'm aware I'm in the honeymoon period and may well be moaning in a year's time!).
Looks like you've had one? How did you get on with yours?

When I picked it up I got caught in traffic on the M25 and the computer recorded 8 MPG something both me and the car didn't like much. The accurate onboard computer says 19 MPG over a 2000 mile period and I get 24 MPG on a long run.
I just don't think anyone produces big elegant coupe's as well as Mercedes do. Of course they are expensive to run but the V12's are so nice to drive and like you I'm prepared to give it a bit of leeway just for the pleasure of driving it.
This my new banger. I've been looking for a W220 for months, and getting fed up with all the suitable ones either being hundreds of miles away or snapped up before I could even enquire about them with the owners.
As much as I'd like a 500, I still do fairly high miles every year, so it had to be a diesel. It's in pretty good condition, the only rust I can find is at the front of the rear arches, and only on the surface, the rest of the bodywork is clean and no dents as far as I can see.
It's going into my local indy next week to have a precautionary gearbox service and pilot bush change, it's had one sometime in it's life as the dipstick has a red cap, but I can't find it on any of the paperwork. I think the centre bearing on the propshaft could do with changing as well, there's a slight vibration when letting the throttle off that is a familiar feeling I had on my old W210.
Apart from that, it seems to be in rude health, I'm enjoying barging around at the moment, it really is a lovely old thing.
