I now use these ITG twin trumpet socks: https://www.competitionsupplies.com/itg-air-filter...
I used to use the Pipercross version, but they had a separate piece of foam internally dividing each pair,
and one came unattached and found its way into the carb .

Mine before filter socks. The individual ones seem ok and certainly better than unfiltered.

I have trumpets without filters on. I also have an oil breather pipe close which I think is the cause of fume smells in car now. A catcher tank has been suggested instead. Anyone got one, any recommendations/ alternative ideas?
Get one of the nice breather oil filler caps from Alfaholics and vent it into a container. These can be obtained from most of the motorsport factors. Alternatively if after a cheap solution, use an old plastic 1 litre oil bottle. I put the oil catch tank on mine on the battery tray, as I had relocated the battery inside the car. Those trumpets do sound good on their own. A wonderful gurgling noise that turns to a wonderful growl and then howl at high revs. ian996 said:

There is something beautiful about how utterly functional those "tweaked" 105 engine bays look...not too crowded, not too empty....perfect!There's nothing extra or unnecessary on these cars to start with and it's a very basic simple thing really. I enjoy tinkering and most of the parts are next day or so off shelf if you need things.
I've got no p/s abs power steering etc. I think there are ten fuses in total lol. The blower fan is one speed and is either on or off. Luckily it's a dry weather toy:-)
That really does look lovely....that’s about what the blue one that DK sold for second time around I think. That would have sold very quickly three months ago I suspect....in fact I am surprised they haven’t been able to sell it to someone whose name is on the lengthy list for a build.

That sounds a lot like my car except mine had a largely standard interior (bar steering wheel and seats). They are a lot of fun and quick enough for most situations. Mine has the 200 bhp Alfaholics engine, suspension, brakes, gearbox, LSD etc etc.
Fire away with any questions or feel free to drop me a message and we can have a chat.
Hi - what seats are you using in your car? I have a '69 GTJ stepnose with the std seats and with more motor, suspension and brakes, it's hard to stay in one place on the stock seats!Fire away with any questions or feel free to drop me a message and we can have a chat.
Mine are Ridgard period buckets which are brill. You won't fall out of those babies. RS4 I think mine are, popular seat upgrade.

Thanks guys. I couldn't see any seat dimensions on the site. Would you say the seats are small/generous, etc? I'm 6'5" and about 100kgs, although I do manage to slide into a Tillet seat in my Caterham!
Am 6ft 2-3" and 14st they fit perfect (nip but not too tight) but might just fit you. Gassing Station | Alfa Romeo, Fiat & Lancia | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
