Basically a 155 bodied Lancia Delta Integrale:

Davids has the chip to unveal 215 naughty horses.

Quite a day out: blasting 600 kms in the brute AWD Q4, the luverly 1750 GTV Bertone and the 2 litre Spider crowd magnet.

The Q4 is quite a rare car: only 2500 produced.

It looks like a regular car but it's not: 0-60 in 7 secs and 0-100 in 18 secs and a Vmax of over 140.

Next: more pics and roadstories.

Mate had one, I loved it (except for LHD)

Not so good when he managed to put 40psi in the rear tyres, all over the place!

The car does not feel complex or tricky. Good and honest handling and easy to steer.

Early sunday morning run started at 6.30 hrs. We ran in 3 teams, changing cars along the way. The ladies took the first legge. First coffeebreak after a rural road hoon and highway blast.

It's good fun to let the Spider and GTV pass the leading Q4. Dropping a gear and flooring it provided for an aural experience best enjoyed from the slow lane.

Well over 200 brake in a 1350 kgs sedan is good fun. The turboed 2 litre DOHC did not miss a beat during our 600 kms journey. On the way back we had a break at Doel (B).

It's a ghosttown really. Lot's of visitors are attracted to the empty houses and grafitti. Boyracers race the streets and bikers pitstop for a sandwich. As it is in the Antwerp harbour area one can enjoy the ships from the quays or piers. Our Alfa pack was noted and folk came up to inform about the cars.

The Q4 outperformed both other - more classic - Alfas by a mile. Character is undoubtly Alfa though: steering, gears, the small wheels and the handling. Lovely stuff.

We had some rain. But only some . . . The Alfas performed without any hiccup. Thirsty Q4: well under 30 mpg . . .

Indeed. I once owned a narrow-bodied V6 in that same colour. It sounded amazing, especially over the last thousand RPM of its range, but could be tempted into the low teens for mpg.

I'm absolutely gutted about not being able to join you guys in the end...

David, I'm quite often in your neighbourhood (parents live in a village next to yours), we should try & grab a coffee one of these days!

Albert, are you coming to .be any time soon? (for the Spa Classic on May 16th for instance)
Absolutely lovely pics as usual btw!

I drove a 155 Q4 a few weeks ago: basically an Integrale.

What a driveable car, superb sound and great performance. The 60-100 4th gear acceleration is intoxicating.

I've been using him today (Land Rover wouldn't start, although in fairness I haven't used it since Valentines weekend in February).

Massive fun, although I wouldn't dare use him every day - I couldn't afford the speeding fines!
